ACMi will be closed on June 19th in observance of Juneteenth. This is a day to reflect on the enduring pursuit of freedom, justice, and equality in the United States. We look forward to seeing you in the studio on Monday and hope you can spend the holiday celebrating and recognizing this significant moment in American history.
๐ For the more curious readers, the Juneteenth flag is more than what meets the eye. Many may use the Pan-African flag (red, black, and green) for the day as it represents the people of the African Diaspora and symbolizes black liberation in the United States. Still, it should NOT replace the actual Juneteenth flag.

The Star โญ: Represents Texas, the Lone Star State, and the freedom of slaves in all 50 states.
The Burst ๐ฅ: Represents a nova, a new star, symbolizing a fresh start for African Americans.

: The day slaves in Galveston, Texas, learned about their freedom when the Union troops arrived to announce the Emancipation Proclamation.
