# # 🔧 WHAT WE EXPECT FROM EVERY TECHNICIAN
All technicians must:
* Pass a drug screen and background check
* Maintain a valid driver's license — clean MVR preferred
* Be reliable, punctual, and dependable
* Communicate professionally with management and team members
* Be willing to learn and follow instructions
* Be self-motivated and detail-oriented
* Work effectively as part of a team
* Be physically capable of lifting **75+ lbs.**
* Maintain good physical conditioning and stamina
* Be willing to travel for **up to 2 weeks at a time (ONLY for out of town applicants)**
* Maintain company-issued tools and equipment
* Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and PPE requirements
* Maintain a professional appearance and clean work attire
* Have a High School Diploma/GED preferred
* Have basic knowledge of hand and power tools or be willing to learn

# 🟢 LEVEL 1 — ENTRY / DEVELOPING TECHNICIAN
Level 1 Technicians are building their foundation in telecommunications construction and tower work.
# # # Basic Responsibilities
* Learn and properly use hand and power tools
* Assist with installation and maintenance of telecom equipment
* Assist with coax, hybrid, fiber, power, and grounding systems
* Learn proper cable routing, labeling, and installation practices
* Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
* Follow site drawings, instructions, safety procedures, and company standards
* Assist experienced technicians with tower and ground work
* Work safely and efficiently as part of a crew
# # # Tower Requirements
* Ability to climb towers **40'–600'**
* Ability to perform work safely at height
* **ComTrain Authorized Climber Certification**

# 🟡 LEVEL 2 — EXPERIENCED TECHNICIAN
Level 2 Technicians have demonstrated the ability to perform more advanced telecom construction tasks with greater independence and responsibility.
# # # RF SYSTEMS
* Run, support, and properly label coax, hybrid cable, and fiber
* Install and prepare power and coax connectors
* Build and prepare antennas and radios for installation
* Follow site specifications and installation standards
# # # AC/DC POWER SYSTEMS
* Run, support, and label AC/DC cabling
* Properly route and secure AC/DC systems
* Safely handle and work around battery systems
* Terminate and install cabling according to specifications
# # # GROUNDING
* Run, support, label, and terminate grounding systems
* Install grounding cables according to site drawings
* Install grounding kits according to specifications
* Maintain proper grounding practices
# # # FIBER / INTERCONNECT
* Run, support, and label fiber optic cables
* Connect fiber using proper methods
* Properly handle, clean, protect, and transport fiber
* Maintain quality installation practices
# # # CIVIL & EQUIPMENT
* Operate pallet jacks and forklifts
* Operate bucket trucks and man lifts
* Assist with ground preparation and site cleanup
* Perform other basic civil tasks as needed
# # # DOCUMENTATION & TECHNOLOGY
* Maintain required LMS training
* Develop and maintain computer skills
* Take clear and accurate COP/closeout photos
* Read and interpret site and construction documents
* Complete and submit accurate expense reports
* Maintain required industry certifications
# # # SAFETY
Must maintain required certifications and training, including applicable:
* OSHA 10
* CPR / First Aid
* Bloodborne Pathogens
* RF Exposure
* Other required industry certifications
# # # TOWER REQUIREMENTS
* **ComTrain Competent Climber Certification**
* Ability to rig various tower types according to approved rigging plans
* Maintain effective communication with ground crews during lifts
* Safely operate a Cat Head to raise and lower customer equipment
* Perform installations at height, including antennas, mounts, radios, coax, fiber, and other equipment
# # # PROMOTION REQUIREMENT
**Level 2 promotion requires meeting all Level 1 requirements and having no write-ups during the previous 3 months minimum.**

# 🔴 LEVEL 3 — SENIOR / LEAD TECHNICIAN
Level 3 Technicians are senior members of the field team with advanced technical knowledge, troubleshooting abilities, and leadership responsibilities.
# # # ADVANCED RF SYSTEMS
* Operate RET controllers and set Electrical Down Tilts (EDTs)
* Accurately measure and set azimuths using a 3Z
* Set Mechanical Down Tilts (MDTs)
* Troubleshoot and repair RF systems
* Read and interpret RFDS, Construction Drawings, Structural Analysis, Mount Analysis, and SOW requirements
* Validate sector configurations, equipment layouts, and RF plumbing
# # # ADVANCED POWER SYSTEMS
* Terminate AC/DC cabling at power sources and power plants
* Land AC/DC cabling according to specifications
* Troubleshoot and repair power issues
* Install OVP hardware, grounding, and conductors according to standards
# # # ADVANCED GROUNDING
* Perform CAD welding for grounding connections
* Inspect and verify grounding system integrity
* Complete structural and equipment bonding according to engineering specifications
# # # ADVANCED FIBER
* Troubleshoot and resolve fiber link failures
* Perform basic and advanced fiber testing
* Utilize:
* OTDR
* IOLM
* Power Meter
* Visual Fault Locator
# # # ADVANCED CIVIL WORK
* Fabricate and install H-Frames according to site drawings
* Fabricate and install cable tray
* Fabricate and install ice bridges
# # # LEADERSHIP & FIELD MANAGEMENT
Level 3 Technicians must be capable of:
* Using Excel, Word, and reporting platforms
* Leading by example
* Training and mentoring Level 1 & Level 2 technicians
* Completing accurate daily field reports
* Organizing closeout documentation and COPs
* Providing detailed and timely updates to management
* Leading a crew or job in the Foreman's absence
* Leading maintenance teams
* Working directly with carrier support teams
* Solving problems and making sound field decisions
* Operating man lifts and aerial platforms
# # # ADVANCED TOWER OPERATIONS
* Proper crane communication using hand signals and radio
* Fabricate/install mount modifications according to Mount Analysis
* Install cable ladders
* Perform tower and load rigging with an understanding of mechanical loads
* Safely and efficiently climb and maneuver on various tower structures
* Install tower lighting systems according to carrier and FAA requirements
* **Certified Rigger** capable of leading rigging operations on various tower types
# # # PROMOTION REQUIREMENT
**Level 3 promotion requires meeting all Level 1 and Level 2 requirements and having no write-ups during the previous 3 months minimum.**
