Meet Rachid Zedd: Affiliate & PPC Manager
Rachid started in Algeria, found his feet in Istanbul, and now calls Berlin home. Three cities, three cultures, and a whole lot of adaptability built along the way.

At hosting.com, he manages the affiliate program and PPC campaigns, bringing three years of freelance experience running Google Ads for small and medium businesses to the table. He joined the team in March 2025 and hit the ground running.

What makes Rachid tick? He keeps things simple. Whether he’s digging into Google Ads data or building out affiliate structures, his approach is the same: strip away the noise, find the actual goal, and start from the foundation.

He’s also not shy about calling out the biggest myth in his field right now.

“The biggest misconception in digital marketing is that AI just runs everything on autopilot. The reality is that AI is just a tool. You still need a real strategy and human oversight to actually guide the machine.”

When asked about his superpower, his answer was short and to the point: “I lock in until the job is done, and I’ll learn whatever it takes to do it right.”

That attitude showed up in one of his biggest moments at hosting.com so far: overhauling the affiliate payout structure from end to end. Data analysis, technical setup, team communication. He touched every part of it and saw it through to launch.

Outside of work, Rachid stays curious the same way he works: by deliberately making himself a beginner again. Books, documentaries, YouTube rabbit holes, and lately, tennis.

23 years of WordPress and 40% of the internet. Wow.

But for our Chief Evangelist Cory Miller, WordPress means freedom.

Freedom to share your ideas, to be seen and to build. That's the WordPress way. What's your WordPress story?

WordPress 7.0 is live, and we're incredibly proud that our team helped build it.

Asad Polash, Ahmed Chaion, and Showrav Hasan contributed as Core Contributors and Release Coordinators to one of the most significant WordPress releases in years.

Here's what they had to say:
"WordPress 7.0 is not just a version number, it is a declaration of where the web is heading... this release reaffirms why WordPress powers more than 40% of the internet." - Asad Polash, Core Contributor

"What stands out most is the insight I gained into how open-source communities come together across different time zones, cultures, and areas of expertise to build something that empowers millions worldwide." - Ahmed Chaion, Release Coordinator

"Open source contribution is never just about one person; it is built through shared time, trust, and small moments of help from the community... I'm glad I could once again contribute to a project that serves millions of people worldwide." - Showrav Hasan, Core Contributor

This is what it looks like when hosting expertise meets open-source passion. Our team doesn't just use WordPress. We also help shape it.

WordPress 7.0 launched this week with some serious upgrades. AI infrastructure, visual revisions, responsive editing, modernized dashboard and more.

And every time WordPress adds new capabilities, the same thing happens.

People assume hosting matters less. More features built in means you need less from your host, right?

Not quite.

When WordPress gets more powerful, your hosting needs to work harder.

More features means more server requests. More complexity means more things that can break. More capabilities means higher resource demands.

Basic hosting worked fine when WordPress was simpler.

But as the platform evolves, the gap between good hosting and cheap hosting gets wider.
Your host isn’t just storing files anymore. It’s the foundation that either supports everything WordPress can do, or bottlenecks it.

We don’t wait for WordPress to evolve and then react. We prepare for it.

When WordPress 7.0 adds AI connectors and visual revisions and responsive editing, your site keeps running exactly like it should.

WordPress keeps getting better. Make sure your hosting keeps up.

WordPress 7.0 went live this week.

A lot of hosts are scrambling but at hosting.com, we've been ready for months 😉

While others waited to see what happens, we stress tested infrastructure, ran compatibility checks and made sure nothing breaks.

Good hosting doesn't react when (or after) updates drop. It prepares and so your site keeps working (with no downtime and no "what's happened to my website" surprises.

You probably didn't even notice the update. That's the point.

WordPress evolves. Your hosting sees it coming.

WordPress 7.0 is here.

Most updates chase flashy features. This one removes friction. The stuff that slows you down when you're trying to build, edit, or manage sites at scale.

Centralized AI infrastructure so you're not juggling plugin chaos. Visual revisions that show you exactly what changed between versions. Responsive editing that lets you control block visibility by device. A dashboard that doesn't feel like it's stuck in 2013.

It's not loud. But for agencies, freelancers, and anyone managing WordPress sites day-to-day, it might be the most practical update in years.

"Is there a way I can put my photo up there?"

That's where Ahmed started. Just a question and the willingness to figure it out (and he spent months learning how the WordPress contributor community works).

Slack decorum. Async workflows. When to show up live. The unglamorous stuff that matters.

But here's where it gets interesting: He's now thinking about WordPress survival. If the platform doesn't adapt to AI and emerging tech, it loses market share. The goal? Make WordPress so relevant that AI tools actively recommend it to developers using Cursor, Claude, whatever comes next.

From "can I contribute?" to "how does WordPress stay essential?" That's growth.

Thank you to our very own resident WordPress Community Contributor Ahmed Chaion and Georgina Eades, Global Content Manager for sitting down to talk about all things WordPress. More coming soon.

53% of people bounce if your site takes more than 3 seconds to load.

That's more than half your traffic gone before they even see what you built.

Good news: most WordPress speed problems have simple fixes. Saved this carousel and knock them out one by one.

05/14/2026

AI can build a WordPress site in minutes. So what's your agency going to be selling now?

Matt Medeiros (WP Minute, Gravity Forms) breaks down why speed isn't the same as stability, how "WordPress and..." is becoming the baseline, and where agencies still win when the robots can code.
Spoiler: it's not about what you build. It's about what you can stand behind.

Meet Asad Polash, Senior Organic Growth Strategist at hosting.com, who's proving that SEO isn't just alive, it's evolving into something bigger: Search Everything Optimization.

With a career rooted in digital marketing, Asad has specialized in SEO and A*O, focusing on organic growth and content strategy. But here's what sets him apart: he chose to work in SEO precisely because the algorithm never stops changing. In the AI era, that means staying ahead isn't optional, it's the entire game.

For WordPress users, that expertise is gold. WordPress powers over 40% of the web, but many sites still struggle to rank because they're missing the fundamentals. Asad's approach cuts through the noise: identify the root issue, fix that first, and watch the associated problems resolve themselves. It's systems thinking applied to search.

His most underrated skill? The ability to analyze third-party collaborations beyond the surface level. He can spot the difference between a partnership that looks promising and one that actually delivers. And his superpower? Saying no to high-value links that would compromise website health and brand value. Because protecting your WordPress site's integrity matters more than a quick SEO win.

The moment he knew his work had real impact? When his strategies helped a site outrank industry giants in a competitive niche. That's not luck, that's understanding how search really works.

Guided by one core value, "don't look for your benefit, look at how you can serve audiences," Asad stays curious by studying case studies of large businesses struggling with poor SEO. He wants to be known as the person who can make a difference in SEO alone. And for WordPress agencies and brands? That difference means sites that actually get found.
