Look what just arrived in the post! Since I've started tinkering with some larger circuits, I decided to have a go designing a PCB with KiCad. I went with a "cupcake" to get a handle on things before I jump into something more complicated.

Introducing the Stinkhorn Fuzz! This stanky fuzz box combines "Push Me Pull You" style octave with an additional fuzz gain stage with adjustable tone and bias. The result is a pedal that can go from the cleaner end of octafuzz to cutting, aggressive fuzz-distortion.

Here's a first look at the first laser marked enclosures! The first two units will be prototypes for the Stinkhorn Fuzz. I am planning to move toward this process for other designs as well, which will reduce my lead time on enclosure prep.

Soldering is sorted on this Aspen Tremolo! Next is testing and some final touches.

Off-board wiring on this Aspen Tremolo is wrapped up, which means it's time to fill those tagboards! Those two rotary switches are part of what makes this circuit special, controlling how the LFO interacts with the audio path beyond the usual Speed, Depth, and square/sine wave options.

Another available Sporophyte boost, sporting a matching nightshade/eggplant color scheme. My current plans for upcoming builds are all tagboard construction, so these may be the only "floating" construction Sporophytes I do, at least for now.

I have a couple of Sporophyte boosts available, this one in a psychedelic sunflower print.

Both of the units have blemishes from the glue-up and have a slight difference in the buffering from my reference design, so I am not listing these in the usual way, but get in touch if you're interested.

New fuzz, who dis? This "Not Dead Dinosaurs" oscillating phyco-fuzz is a spinoff of the Fuzzrite topology with a couple twists. One of the toggles engages low-frequency oscillations within the fuzz circuit, creating a tremolo-like effect that can be controlled by pick dynamics, guitar volume, or by changing other impedance relationships around the pedal. The effect is most pronounced when you pick lightly and is interrupted when you dig in. Other circuit changes provide greater cleanup off the guitar, giving harmonically rich "clean" sounds with lighter pick attack.
