🎙️ Throwback time!

About 24 years ago, our daughters recorded a radio ad for Covington Computer Technologies. We dug it back up, and hearing their little voices brings back all the memories of when we were just getting started.

Fast forward to today — we’ve now been open for over 25 years, proudly serving South Alabama and the Florida Panhandle with computer repair, networking, managed services, and data recovery.

Our daughters’ voices have grown up, and so has the business — but one thing hasn’t changed: family has always been at the heart of what we do. ❤️ We feel truly blessed to have been trusted by our community for this long, and we look forward to many more years of keeping your technology running strong.

🛡️ Heads-up: HUGE Password Breach – Act NOW! 🛡️

Cybersecurity researchers have just uncovered one of the largest credential leaks in history—a staggering 16 billion usernames and passwords from major platforms like Apple, Google, Facebook, Instagram, and even Telegram, GitHub, government services, and more .

This isn’t recycled data from old breaches—it’s the real deal, recently exposed by infostealer malware targeting unsecured databases. Experts warn it’s essentially a “blueprint for mass exploitation” that could lead to widespread account takeovers, phishing schemes, and identity theft .

🔐 What YOU should do right now:

1. Change your passwords—especially on high-risk accounts.

2. Use a password manager to create strong, unique passwords for each service.

3. Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) or, better yet, switch to passkeys where available .

4. Be extra wary of suspicious emails or texts asking for verification codes or personal info.

Protect your accounts—and your identity—NOW before cybercriminals strike. Pass this on and stay safe online!

Change all your account passwords now — don’t wait: 16 billion credentials are confirmed as having been leaked.

🎉 25 Years — No Joke! 🎉

On April 1st, 2000, Covington Computer Technologies, LLC officially opened for business. Starting a tech company on April Fools’ Day sounded a little crazy (and honestly, we thought so too 😅), but we took the leap — and we’re so glad we did.

Back then, there was no Facebook, no iPhones, no YouTube, and definitely no TikTok. Google was just getting started, most people were still using dial-up internet, and Windows 98 ruled the day. Cloud computing wasn’t a thing, and if you told someone their fridge would one day connect to Wi-Fi, they’d probably laugh you out of the room.

We never imagined we’d be talking about smart homes, streaming services, cryptocurrency, or AI 25 years later — but here we are. Through every tech revolution, every big leap, and every unexpected turn, we’ve adapted, evolved, and kept learning. That’s how you survive (and thrive!) for 25 years in the ever-changing tech world.

Today, we’re proud to help our clients with cloud backups, cybersecurity, network management, data recovery, and so much more — solving problems we couldn’t have imagined in 2000. The technology has changed — a lot — but our commitment to quality service, honest work, and taking care of our community has never wavered.

To our amazing clients, friends, and supporters: THANK YOU. Whether you’ve been with us since the floppy disk days or just joined the family, your trust means everything.

Here’s to 25 years of Covington Computer Technologies — and to whatever wild, wired, and Wi-Fi-connected future comes next (smart toasters? AI dogs? We’re ready. 🐾).

🚨 **Important Reminder from
Covington Computer Technologies!** 🚨

Your security matters! This week, an older gentleman in our community was scammed out of **$10,000** by someone pretending to offer tech support. Remember, **reputable companies will NEVER ask you to pay in cryptocurrency**. Scammers use this tactic to make it nearly impossible for you to get your money back.

Also, companies like Microsoft, Apple, or others **will never display a phone number for you to call to fix a problem**. If you see a pop-up with a number or get a call asking to connect to your computer, it’s a **SCAM**!

Stay vigilant—if you're unsure, contact **Covington Computer Technologies**, 334-222-7994 for any questions and we’ll help protect you.
