529 is a tax-free savings plan for college and vocational schools.

We’re proud to provide a handful of Alaska 529 scholarships each year through our Summer of Heroes program.

If you know an Alaska youth who is making a positive difference to those around them, nominate them to be recognized as a youth hero and they could win a $2,000 Alaska 529 scholarship.

What makes someone a hero? Sometimes it’s simply choosing to help others.

Through the Summer of Heroes program, we help spotlight local youth heroes, and award selected youth a $2,000 scholarship.

Summer of Heroes is a partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska, who show us mentorship and relationships matter.

Now through June 14, for every new home internet sign up, we'll make a donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters Alaska to support their work.

You can support Summer of Heroes efforts by:
1. Showing a youth in your community that they matter by filling out a nomination today.
2. Signing up for home internet.
