THE NATIONAL FLOOD ASSOCIATION — A VOICE FOR OUR INDUSTRY!

Flood insurance is a specialized industry, and the challenges we face deserve dedicated attention.

As Chairman of the National Flood Association (NFA) Claims Committee and President of Advanced Adjusting Ltd., I'm proud to be involved with an organization that is working to make a difference in our industry.

The NFA isn't just about holding an annual conference. It's about bringing together the people who work in flood insurance every day — adjusters, carriers, lenders, flood professionals, and industry leaders — to share knowledge, address challenges, and help shape the future of flood insurance.

From working with FEMA and advocating for the NFIP to improving claims practices, education, and communication, NFA is giving our industry a collective voice.

I'm currently attending NFA's annual member and strategic planning meetings in Dallas, where we're discussing the association's direction and priorities for 2027.

And that brings me to something I'm particularly excited about!

The 2027 NFA Annual Conference — March 21–23 in Scottsdale, Arizona!

If you're in the flood business, this is your conference. Flood insurance, flood claims, flood regulations, and the future of our industry will take center stage.

I encourage you to get involved with NFA, participate in its committees, and join us in Scottsdale.

Our industry is stronger when we work together.

Chairman, NFA Claims Committee

No matter how dark the storm, there's always another sunrise. 🌄

My heart goes out to the families affected by hurricanes, flooding, and natural disasters.

After more than 20 years in the claims industry, I've learned that behind every claim is a family trying to put their lives back together.

At Advanced Adjusting Ltd., we believe in treating people with compassion, integrity, and respect.

We can't stop the storms, but we can help families through what comes afterward.

God bless,

Mike Morgan

Hurricane Isaias: Recovery Begins With People 🫶

The hurricane has passed, but for thousands of families, the hardest part may just be beginning.

Hurricane Isaias made landfall near Destin, Florida, on October 9, bringing damaging winds, flooding, and widespread power outages. Its impacts extended well beyond the Gulf Coast, with heavy rainfall and additional severe weather affecting communities farther inland.

Our hearts go out to everyone who has experienced loss or damage.

To the first responders, emergency personnel, utility crews, and volunteers working tirelessly to restore these communities, thank you.

And to our fellow claims professionals, remember that behind every assignment is someone trying to put their life back together.

Be patient. Listen. Communicate. Show compassion.

For those beginning recovery, please avoid floodwaters and downed power lines. Document damage only when conditions are safe.

At Advanced Adjusting, we believe experience matters, but how we treat people matters just as much.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with everyone affected by Hurricane Isaias.

The Gulf has our attention this morning.
Tropical Storm Isaias formed overnight in the Gulf, and as of 4:00 a.m. CDT Wednesday, the National Hurricane Center reported maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. The NHC forecasts rapid strengthening over the next day or two, with Isaias expected to become a hurricane by Thursday.

For our friends, insurance partners and claims professionals along the northern Gulf Coast, now is the time to stay informed and review your readiness — while remembering that forecasts can change.

For independent adjusters, check your equipment, credentials and deployment information. For families and businesses, follow official forecasts and local emergency guidance.

At Advanced Adjusting, we’ll be watching closely. Preparedness today helps us serve people better when they need us tomorrow.
Stay safe, Gulf Coast.

🌧️ Florida Panhandle Flooding Watch

Heavy rain continues across parts of the Florida Panhandle and Big Bend, with additional rainfall increasing the risk of flash flooding and property damage.

For homeowners, businesses, carriers and claims professionals, the next few days may bring losses involving:

• Flooding and water intrusion
• Contents damage
• Commercial property losses
• Roof and exterior damage
• NFIP and private flood claims

At Advanced Adjusting LTD., we understand how quickly a heavy-rain event can turn into a significant claims situation.

Our team continues to monitor developing conditions and stands ready to support our carrier partners with experienced property, flood, field and desk adjusting resources when needed.

Most importantly, we hope everyone in the affected areas stays safe. Never attempt to drive through flooded roadways, and continue following local weather and emergency guidance.

A quieter hurricane season doesn’t mean claims professionals can lower their guard.

NOAA continues to forecast a below-normal 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, with a 75% chance of below-normal activity. But NOAA makes an important point that applies just as much to claims as it does to forecasting: it only takes one storm to make a season significant for the people in its path.

That’s a good reminder for all of us as we enter October.
CAT readiness isn’t measured by how many storms have formed. It’s built through training, communication, updated credentials, tested technology and having experienced people ready when a carrier or policyholder needs help.

At Advanced Adjusting Ltd., we believe the quieter periods are when strong catastrophe teams prepare for the busy ones.
Stay sharp. Stay prepared. And never mistake quiet for finished.
