In this installment of our video series, Daren Smith, VP of ASC Solutions, weighs in on how ASCs are handling patient outreach ahead of surgery.

Patient outreach often relies on familiar routines. But familiar doesn't always mean efficient.

🗨️How is your team connecting with patients before surgery day?

10/15/2026

Cost pressure in ASCs rarely comes from a single source. The centers managing it most effectively tend to have a clear view of what is driving cost at both the center and case level.

In a recent Becker's Healthcare article, ASC administrators identified facility compliance, anesthesia coverage, and supplies and technology as key cost drivers. One administrator shared that tracking costs at the case level, including supply utilization, staffing, procedure time, and reimbursement, has strengthened vendor negotiations and informed smarter spending decisions.

That level of visibility can give ASC leaders a significant advantage as they work to balance efficiency, financial performance, and quality care.

💬 Which cost pressure is having the greatest impact on your center today?

AI security isn't a new category of risk for ASCs. It's cybersecurity, plus data governance, plus responsible use.

As AI tools begin to touch scheduling, documentation, billing, and patient data, ASC leaders need a clear way to evaluate what those tools can access and where that information goes.

In our latest blog, Dr. Paul Alcock, Director of Information Security at SIS, shares the questions administrators should ask before bringing a new AI solution into their center.

What can an ASC learn when follow-up continues beyond the 24-hour post-op call?

One total joint center wanted greater visibility into what happened after that initial check-in. With Long-Term Patient Outcomes (LTPO), the center established structured follow-up across approximately 1,500 annual cases.

The follow-up data provided a clearer picture of patient recovery after discharge, helping the center identify and address concerns that may have otherwise gone unnoticed.

Surgery moves fast in ASCs, and clinicians rely on real-time data more than after-the-fact chart review once a case is underway.

AI in clinical decision-making is starting to support that pace, detecting polyps during colonoscopy, calculating lens power for cataract surgery, and flagging vital-sign changes before they become critical, all without adding steps to the surgical day.

Predictive analytics in healthcare gives ASC teams a fuller, real-time picture behind every decision.

Learn how AI in clinical decision-making helps ASC teams detect risk earlier, support key procedures in real time, and improve outcomes through predictive analytics in healthcare.
