With today’s advancements in AI image and sound creation, a scammer can copy someone's voice from just a few seconds of video or audio. They will call sounding like your grandchild, your daughter, or your boss, saying they are in trouble and need money transferred right now.

Hang up. Call that person back on a number you already have saved.

Pick a family code word and ask for it if or when an urgent event comes up. A real emergency survives a two-minute phone call.

Two Steps to Better Security

Your password is the front door. Two-step sign-in is the deadbolt.

Turn on 2 Factor Authentication (2FA) for your email and your online bank accounts first. Those unlock everything else you own. Then, turn it on for every account tied to personal identifying information and with payment options tied in.

And if someone calls asking you to read them a sign-in code, that call is the scam. Hang up.
