A great event experience starts long before guests check in.

That’s why we’ve introduced new Donorbox Events features like reminder emails, calendar invites, and mobile tickets, making it easier to keep attendees engaged and informed after they register and before they arrive.

Spring conference season flew by, but the conversations we had are still top of mind. The Donorbox team enjoyed meeting up with nonprofit partners at:

🐾 HumanePro's Animal Care Expo — Pittsburgh, PA
🎨 Create Good Conference — Durham, NC
💡 Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) ICON — San Diego, CA
🏊 NAYDO — Long Beach, CA
🌲 Nonprofit Association of Washington Conference — Tacoma & Spokane, WA
🏛️ American Alliance of Museums Annual Meeting — Philadelphia, PA

Between all the sessions, networking lunches, and chats at our booth, we noticed a few common themes that are top of mind for organizations right now, including:

💡 “We’ve always done it this way” isn’t enough anymore.
From events to technology, organizations are taking a closer look at what’s working and what’s not.

🤝 Community matters.
Leaders are focused on building stronger relationships with supporters beyond a single donation or event.

⚙️ Tool fatigue is real.
Teams are looking for ways to reduce complexity, streamline work, and spend less time managing disconnected systems.

What has been your favorite conference you’ve attended this year and why? Let us know in the comments.

Does your nonprofit board have a blind spot?

Sometimes, the biggest growth opportunity comes from simply taking time to reflect on how a board communicates, collaborates, and grows together.

This week, Britt Stockert talks with David Rhode, nonprofit executive coach and author of Passion Isn’t Enough, about what board evaluations should look like, why they matter, and how to approach them constructively.

It started with a goal of building one house per year, but today Build A Miracle does so much more than that. Through education, medical and dental care, trade training, and community support, they’re helping families in Tijuana create brighter futures. 🏡

Peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns are helping supporters fund these programs and expand BAM’s impact. More than 570 homes have been built, and over 75 classes and programs are now offered.
We’re honored to support organizations like BAM and the meaningful work they do. 💛

Understanding donor behavior is just as important as the donation itself.

How supporters respond to campaigns, engage with organizations, and build trust over time all plays a major role in long-term giving.

Jena Lynch is joined by Rob Harter, nonprofit coach and host of Nonprofit Leadership Podcast to discuss shifting donor behavior and why some traditional fundraising approaches you might be taking may need to be reexamined.

For decades, organizations have worked to uplift AANHPI communities through advocacy, education, cultural preservation and leadership opportunities for future generations.

Every day, but especially during AANHPI Heritage Month, we’re proud to partner with organizations like AAPI Women Lead, LāHui Foundation, The Very Asian Foundation , LEAP - Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics and AAPI United. Thank you for the incredible work you do to uplift these communities. 💙

Museum development teams’ to-do lists are already long enough. Sifting through and exporting supporter data shouldn’t be another task. 🏛️

Donorbox’s integration with Blackbaud Altru helps bring donation and ticketing data together so your team can spend less time tracking information down manually.

A student seeing ancient artifacts up close for the first time.
A family exploring an interactive science exhibit together.
A visitor standing silently in front of a sculpture, completely captivated.

Museum visits stay with people long after they walk out the door. Those emotional connections are often what inspire visitors to come back, become members, or support the institution in a personally meaningful way.

In our latest blog post, Fundraising Strategist, Chad Barger shares how museums can create visitor experiences that inspire long-term community support.
