A story told through craftsmanship.

I’m excited to share a few spreads from a 44 page coffee table book I had the privilege of designing, a book telling the remarkable story behind George Sissel’s one-of-a-kind, hand-carved chess set.

What makes this project so special is the incredible craftsmanship, history and story behind the set. My role was to take all of those pieces, the photographs, the history and the details, and bring them together into a book that honors the work and gives the chess set the presentation it deserves.

Members of the Citizens Brick Street Committee will be presenting information and asking the City Council to pause the proposed Elm Street Project so that additional options for preserving the historic brick street between 4th and 5th Street can be explored.

Whether you support preservation, have questions, or simply want to stay informed about a project that could shape the future of our historic downtown, your attendance matters.

A strong community presence shows that residents care about the decisions being made for Albion's future.

Here's an unused logo concept I recently designed.

Not every logo concept makes it into the world and that's okay... there's still a lot of creativity behind it. This one leaned heavily into vintage Americana tattoo art with custom typography and an illustrated bird dog.

Sometimes clients choose another direction, and that's part of the design process. I'm still proud of how this one turned out. It was fun to work on.

Designing on a Macintosh since 1992. Thirty-three years of helping businesses, organizations, and communities tell their stories through thoughtful design and creative marketing.

I've experienced software many younger designers have only read about, Aldus PageMaker, QuarkXPress's dominance, the transition to Adobe Creative Suite, and the shift from print-first design to digital media. A depth of experience that is increasingly rare and valuable in the industry.

I've watched the industry evolve from paste-up boards and early desktop publishing to today's digital and AI-driven design tools.

As a business owner on Albion's historic square, I fully support preserving the brick streets. Our historic downtown is one of the things that makes Albion unique. Preserving our brick streets isn't resisting progress, it's recognizing that our history has value. We can modernize where needed while protecting the character that attracts people to our community. Once our history is gone, it's gone forever.

Excited to get started on a new local window graphics project!

AI has its place in today's creative world, but this one will be built the old-fashioned way, with research, sketching, problem-solving, and thoughtful design. Graphic designers know the difference.

Looking forward to seeing this project move from idea to installation.
