Most security incidents don’t begin with a loss. They begin with a moment when something looks out of place.

A person approaches a restricted area. A vehicle arrives after hours. Someone crosses a perimeter or lingers near valuable equipment.

That period between unusual activity and a completed incident creates what our latest article calls the “intervention window”: an opportunity to detect, understand, and respond while the outcome may still be unfolding.

ECAM’s approach to real-time video monitoring combines intelligent detection with trained monitoring specialists and defined response protocols. Depending on the situation, that can mean continued observation, an audible warning, notifying designated personnel, or escalating verified activity to law enforcement.

Real-time security isn’t simply about seeing something faster. It’s about having more options while there’s still time to use them: https://hubs.la/Q04yrcjc0

There’s a critical difference between seeing an incident and seeing it soon enough to do something about it.

Real-time video monitoring is designed around that difference.

By combining intelligent detection with trained monitoring specialists, ECAM helps identify suspicious activity as it develops, verify what’s happening, and determine the appropriate response. That could mean issuing an audible warning, notifying on-site personnel, or escalating verified threats to law enforcement: https://hubs.la/Q04yqVdf0

Having cameras at every site doesn’t necessarily mean you have visibility across every site.

For energy operators managing substations, solar facilities, equipment yards, and other remote or distributed assets, traditional CCTV can capture valuable footage. But if no one knows suspicious activity is happening until hours later, that footage may only explain the loss.

And modernization doesn’t always require ripping out the cameras you already have. ECAM can help energy organizations evaluate existing infrastructure, address coverage gaps, and build a more consistent security strategy across sites with very different needs.

Cameras show you the site. Monitoring helps you protect it: https://hubs.la/Q04yqLcw0

$31.8 million in cargo losses. And the holiday itself wasn’t even the highest-risk period.

CargoNet recorded 273 theft incidents across Labor Day analysis periods from 2021 through 2025, with incidents increasing 70% from 2021 to 2025. Even more telling, 71% occurred on the weekdays immediately surrounding the holiday weekend, when shifting schedules, reduced staffing, and irregular freight movements can create opportunities for criminals.

But today’s cargo theft threat goes deeper than breached fences and stolen trailers. Organized groups are increasingly combining physical theft with compromised accounts, fraudulent instructions, and other forms of identity-based deception.

Check out what the Labor Day data reveals about the changing cargo theft landscape and why stronger verification, access control, real-time monitoring, and operational visibility all have a role to play in protecting freight.

Six security guards don’t necessarily mean six jobs that require a security guard.

At a logistics facility, one post may be checking driver credentials. Another may be assisting visitors. Others may spend their shifts patrolling trailer yards, parking areas, or thousands of feet of perimeter.

Those responsibilities require very different capabilities.

This article explores a more practical way to evaluate logistics security: break your existing guard program down by function. Keep physical presence where human interaction matters, and consider live video monitoring and intelligent detection where the primary need is visibility, verification, and response.

The result can be a hybrid strategy that gives people and technology the jobs each is best equipped to handle.

Don’t start by counting guards. Start by counting functions.

The crews may clock out, but the jobsite risks don't.

Effective after-hours protection requires more than recording footage for review the next morning. It requires the ability to detect unusual activity, understand what’s happening, and respond while there’s still an opportunity to prevent a larger loss or disruption.

This article explores how live video monitoring, intelligent detection, Mobile Surveillance Units, and real-time intervention can help contractors maintain visibility long after the workday ends.

Your jobsite may be empty overnight. Your security coverage shouldn’t be.

Your jobsite changes every day. Your security strategy has to keep up.

New materials arrive. Equipment moves. Perimeters shift. Contractors come and go. Areas that were protected yesterday can become tomorrow’s security gap.

That constant change makes construction sites especially challenging to secure, and it means a few fixed cameras or occasional patrols may not provide the visibility a project needs from groundbreaking through completion.

This article explores the components of an effective construction site security system, from intelligent video detection and live monitoring to Mobile Surveillance Units and real-time response, and how they can work together to help protect materials, equipment, schedules, and budgets.

Did you know? Some of the highest-risk hours for construction sites happen while most project teams are asleep.

According to the 2026 State of Construction Site Security Report, the majority of confirmed break-ins analyzed in 2025 occurred between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m.

That four-hour window is exactly when proactive security matters most.
ECAM combines AI-powered detection with trained live monitoring specialists to help watch over jobsites after crews leave. When suspicious activity is detected, our team can assess what’s happening in real time, activate on-site audio warnings when appropriate, and escalate verified threats to law enforcement.

The goal is to give project teams more than footage to review the next morning. It’s to help protect equipment, materials, schedules, and budgets while there’s still an opportunity to change the outcome.

Your crews may be off the clock, but ECAM is still watching.

When everyone leaves, the property doesn’t stop creating risk. It just becomes harder to see.

Vacant buildings lose the everyday activity that naturally helps surface problems. With fewer employees, tenants, vendors, and visitors around, unauthorized access, vandalism, property damage, and environmental issues can remain unnoticed far longer than they would at an occupied site.

That means a security strategy designed for an active property may no longer be enough once the building sits empty.

An alarm can tell you something happened. But what happens next?

Traditional alarm systems are designed to detect specific triggers, like a door opening or a sensor being activated. What they often lack is the context to show exactly what’s happening, whether there’s a genuine threat, and how the situation is developing.

Remote video monitoring adds that context by combining intelligent detection, live video, and trained monitoring professionals who can verify activity and take action in real time.

When every minute matters, knowing why an alarm was triggered can be just as important as knowing it was triggered.
