Nonprofit Websites: A visitor lands on your nonprofit's website. They understand your mission. They like what you're doing. They're ready to help.

Now what?

One of the most important questions a nonprofit website needs to answer is: “What can I do?”

Donate. Volunteer. Attend. Pray. Advocate. Subscribe. Share. Participate. Don't make people hunt for the next step. When someone is moved by your mission, make it easy for them to become part of it.

When someone Googles your organization, they may never reach your website first.

They may see your Google Business Profile. Your hours. Your reviews. Your photos. Your location. Your services. And they'll begin forming an opinion before they ever click.

That's why your Google Business Profile isn't just a listing to set up and forget.

Keep your information accurate. Add current photos. Respond to reviews. Make sure your services and description actually reflect what you do today.

Your first impression may be happening before someone ever reaches your homepage.

Marketing a nonprofit is different.

You're not simply asking someone to buy something. You're asking them to believe something matters.

To understand a need.
To trust your organization.
To care about the outcome.
And ultimately, to participate.

That participation might mean donating, volunteering, attending, sharing, praying or simply telling someone else about the mission.

That's why nonprofit marketing can't begin with promotion.

It has to begin with the story of why the work matters.

A website should do more than tell people who you are. It should help them understand why your work matters.

We recently had the privilege of developing a new website for The White Rock Fund, an organization investing in projects and partnerships that make a meaningful difference.

The goal wasn't simply a new look. It was to create a digital home that clearly communicates the organization's mission, builds trust, and makes it easier for people to understand the work behind the name.

We're proud of how it came together.

Every few years, someone announces the death of SEO. Yet, it's still here. But it is changing.

People aren't finding information in just one place anymore. They search Google. They ask AI tools questions. They watch videos. They look at maps, reviews, and social platforms.

That means your digital presence has a bigger job to do.

Your website needs to clearly communicate who you are, what you know, who you serve and why you're a credible source.

The goal isn't simply to “rank.” The goal is to be understood—and found—wherever people are looking.

“When did you last look at your website through the eyes of a search engine—or an AI?”

When we sit down with clients, we often share a marketing strategy you may not have heard very often: You probably don't need to do everything.

You don't need to be on every social platform.
You don't need every new marketing tool.
You don't need to chase every trend.
And you certainly don't need to spend money on something simply because everyone says you should.

Good marketing starts with these four things. Define WHO your audience is. Figure out WHERE your audience is. Identify WHAT they need from you, and WHICH tools can actually help you reach them.

Sometimes the smartest marketing decision is deciding what not to do.

Sometimes the simplest tasks can be the most effective. Take five seconds and look at your homepage. Now pretend you've never heard of your organization before.

Can you easily answer these three questions?

1. Who are you?
2. Who do you help?
3. What should I do next?

If the answers aren't immediately clear, your visitors may be wondering the same thing. Beautiful websites are nice. Clear websites work.

After 15 years in the marketing world, it's clear to see that marketing has changed a lot.

Search has changed. Social media has changed. AI is changing how people find answers and discover businesses.

But one thing hasn't changed:

Good marketing starts with understanding people.

Who are you trying to reach?
What matters to them?
What problem can you help them solve?
And what do they need to hear from you right now?

At Jemully, technology is part of what we do. Relationships are the foundation of how we do it. Because the tools will keep changing. Understanding people never goes out of date.

This weekend, we celebrate 250 years of the freedoms that have shaped our nation and the enduring principles on which it was founded.

As we gather with family, friends, and neighbors, we're reminded of the wisdom, courage, and conviction of our Founding Fathers, whose vision established a nation dedicated to liberty and self-government. Many also drew strength from a deep belief that our rights come from a source greater than government—a faith that has inspired generations to pursue freedom with both gratitude and responsibility.

While our nation has faced challenges throughout its history, the ideals of freedom, opportunity, and the pursuit of a more perfect union continue to unite and inspire us.

From all of us at Jemully, we wish you a joyful, safe, and meaningful Independence Day as we celebrate the blessings of liberty and look with hope toward the future.

Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸
