World Youth Skills Day 2026:
Building Skills for a Shared Digital Future
Today, on World Youth Skills Day (15 July 2026), the world comes together around the theme:
SKILLS FOR S SHARED FUTURE.
But a shared future cannot exist if millions of young people are excluded from the technologies shaping tomorrow.
Artificial Intelligence, automation, software development, and digital innovation are transforming how we learn, work, create businesses, and solve global challenges. The question is no longer whether technology will change our future the question is:
Who will have the skills, tools, and opportunities to shape that future?
Across Uganda and Africa, millions of talented young people have ideas, creativity, and ambition. Yet many still face barriers such as limited access to computers, inadequate digital skills, low exposure to emerging technologies, and a lack of pathways connecting learning to real opportunities.
At Tech for Community, we believe technology should not be a privilege for a few it should be an opportunity available to everyone.
Our mission is to help communities move from being consumers of technology to becoming creators, innovators, entrepreneurs, and problem solvers.
Through our digital inclusion ecosystem, we are building pathways that connect people with the skills, tools, and opportunities they need to thrive:
π‘ AI School Uganda
Making Artificial Intelligence understandable, practical, and accessible empowering young people to use AI responsibly, develop solutions, and prepare for the future of work.
π Mobile Digital Innovation Labs
Taking technology directly to underserved schools and communities through practical digital learning, coding, STEM education, and AI experiences.
π’ Community Technology Hubs
Creating inclusive spaces where young people can access computers, internet, training, mentorship, innovation support, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
π Innovation & Entrepreneurship Programmes
Supporting young innovators and businesses to transform ideas into solutions through mentorship, incubation, and digital transformation support.
π Opportunity Connect Platform
Connecting learners and entrepreneurs to scholarships, jobs, internships, grants, fellowships, competitions, and global opportunities.
Because digital skills are not just about learning how to use technology.
They are about:
β
Creating jobs
β
Building businesses
β
Solving community challenges
β
Increasing access to opportunities
β
Giving every young person a chance to participate in the digital economy
Our vision is simple:
The future belongs to communities that can create technology, not only consume it.
By investing in digital skills, Artificial Intelligence, innovation, and technology access today, we are investing in the innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders who will shape tomorrow.
This is how we build a shared future.
