I'm thrilled to announce that I've recently wrapped up my role as a Mentor in the February 2024 Cohort of the WordPress Contributor Mentorship Program. It's been an exhilarating journey filled with growth, learning, and most importantly, making a tangible impact on the WordPress open-source project.

Being part of this second cohort Mentorship Program has been nothing short of extraordinary. It's provided me with the opportunity to extend my knowledge and expertise to mentees, guiding them through the intricacies of WordPress development and contributing to its vibrant community. Am proud to have a mentee who through the mentorship program was able to be part of WordPress 6.5 release

WordCamp Entebbe, a two-day event that took place on the 10th and 11th of March, 2023, was a resounding success and was attended by over 230 people.

The event, which was focused on the WordPress content management system, drew attendees from across Uganda and beyond. However, what made this event stand out was its commitment to gender diversity in the tech industry.

Over the weekend, Our CTO was honored to speak at the first WordCamp in Jinja - A city that houses the source of the Longest River- the Nile.

Since 2015, Arthur Kasirye been a contributor, and web designer, and currently the community lead in Entebbe and Elementor Community Leader in Uganda.

During the Jinja word camp, he shared with the delegates about wooing customers with WooCommerce a topic he is so passionate about, which also got me an interview with Bob Dunn aka BobWP about two weeks ago.>> https://lnkd.in/dDqVhvts

He also shared with delegates how they can contribute to by translating Wordpress into local languages.

Currently, WordPress is 33% translated to Luganda and I am proud to say I spend about 3 hours a week contributing to this project.

Proud to say that the Wordpress Community in Uganda is one huge, united, and focused community transforming the IT sector in Uganda.
