Description
Scope of role:

* The Solution Consultant supports the Sales process. His or her mission is to ensure that TIBCO becomes the technically preferred vendor of a given prospect.
* Provide pre-sales technical support to the direct sales account team across vertical markets, matching specific customer business requirements with effective technical solutions consisting of TIBCO products and services. Document and present analysis and solutions to customers
Lead Generation/ prospect development:
* Respond to technical sections of RFI/ RFP/ RFQ
* Develop and where necessary present business (& technical) proposition to prospects/ customers
* Map business requirements to technology capabilities, identifying gaps and omissions and designing end-to-end solutions
* Development, installation and presentation of demos
* Support of Marketing events
* Explain competitive positioning to prospects and customers
* Look for new business within existing customers
Lead Assessment/ prospect qualification:
* Together with Sales Management assess RFx/ POC opportunities
* Provide sales support in defining the strategy for a given account
* Perform a technical assessment of a given account
Knowledge Management:
* Share knowledge gained during campaigns through TIBCO intranet
* Work with product management to feedback information from the field
Proof of Concept:
* Successfully manage the delivery of POCs leveraging, where necessary, organisational resources
Execute short POCs, architecture or TIBCO Solutions workshops employing knowledge of key TIBCO products
Deal Closure:
* Assist the Sales Organisation in developing an appropriate pricing model for the customer
* Provide input for the win/loss report
* Complete ROI study with prospect
* Support Sales and Legal with required products for the commercial offer
Account Management:
* Work with Sales to assess sales activities within prospects
* Communicate product roadmap, planned enhancements or new products to existing customers and partners
* Cradle –to-grave CRM with at least 1 client within the region
* Work with PSG to achieve total customer satisfaction
General:
* Keep abreast of new product development and ensure an associated sufficient level of technical knowledge is acquired to use new products in POC situations and to be able to present their technical attributes and business value to prospects and customers Technical skills:
* Excellent oral and written presentation skills
* Extensive knowledge of custom application design, development and implementation
* Strong development background in Java and/or C++
* Middleware technologies (RV, MQSeries, COM, JMS, CORBA, EJB, existing knowledge of TIBCO products highly desirable)
* Relational databases (Oracle, Sybase, ODBC, SQL Server)
* ERP Systems (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards)
* CRM (Siebel, Clarify)
* Communication with legacy apps (TCP/IP, SNA, FTP, local file transfer)
* Internet protocols and products (HTTP, SOAP, WebServices)
* Hands on technical background
* Specific vertical credibility
* Mobility suitable for territory and TIBCO office location
* Knowledge of EAI solutions market
* Mainframe environments, applications & datastores (OS390, CICS, IMS)
Experience and knowledge:
* Development and Architectural experience in EAI and middleware products
* Proven ability to build and deliver credible business value propositions in a specific vertical at Senior Architect level
* Experience in interfacing with applications
* Proven analytical and problem solving skills
* Proven ability to deliver on Proof of Concepts.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor or above in Computer Science or equivalent
