wow... their goes the wait, the tech world moves at such speeds that screening the content for the average Joe becomes such an enigma at times, but well lets break it into bits;

we now know our phones a beasts, with such power that its just as easy to substitute you current computer for one of the flagships out their, From huge giants like Samsung with their Galaxy line up (the S8 buz to be exact) to the under dogs like the One Plus with their Flagship killers (One Plus 5) or the Xiaomi with their double aged approach ( the Mi Note 2 and Mi Mix) we are in for such a treat... but as always while we try to keep our articles informative the goal is to learn something new and as for this one that will be VPN's

Full for virtual Private Network the term VPN is out their making its rounds yet not many can relate but the geeks, so for this article we get to dive in.

For the most part you need a VPN as a protection mechanism, simply put when you use a software to join a VPN, your device becomes part of a network which includes other globally connected devices, this makes it hard for some one or other machines to pin your exact location in the mass of devices on the network some of which are virtual... but lets not go down that rabbits hole..

For that case i will simply declare that the benefits out way the disadvantages, for one you gain access to geo-locked content and websites that may not otherwise be accessible in your region, in some cases where local authorities censor content you can still by pass that since your machine comes off as connecting from an anonymous location among others...

You need a VPN, if not for the extra protection it presents even against online threats, at least let it be for the peace of mind, the number of Apps both for computers and mobile devices that do create VPN's is Vast and the list is long all you have to do is a Google search though my personal preference comes in form of browser extensions that simply do that with ease while u surf the web, Opera in particular does a nifty job of it by simply including the option right out of the bag. Big ups to that development team; and to the rest of you good lads, its about time... Go beef up your security if not by much, at least use a VPN.

Getting Personal with... Whats-app Messanger!

Well its no secrete that this little messaging app went viral and now almost anyone who is or whats to communicate uses it at one point or another and then again, whats not to like? well if most are like me groups are bound to irritate so keeping things simple and relevant is high on any admins check list but the noose that has made the group effectiveness almost hard to implement for businesses and crowd dependant activities is the number limit, even when that limit was moved from 50 to 100 after the facebook acquisition well, there is a work around for the geeky and well to stay in the good graces of my friends at FB all i will leave here is a link, go wild while at it... https://www.droidmen.com/2015/02/how-to-add-more-than-100-members-whatsapp-group/

As well all know that WhatsApp is coming with a Calling Feature soon, Yesterday in a post I explained you “How to enable WhatsApp Call Feature without getting an invite” and today WhatsApp has found a patch for that and that trick has stopped working. Today is something which is often required by ma…

How to remove or edit Email Footer Message on iPhone or iPad

By default the iPhone and iPad have blank spaces at the bottom of your email. However, if you have upgraded from iOS 6 to iOS 7 you might see “Sent from my iPhone/iPad” there. These are the steps to edit that message and put your own.

Go to the Settings app

While there, open the Settings app, scroll down and tap on Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Now, scroll down and you’ll see the Signature option. Tap it to open further options for accounts.

Under Accounts Option

If you have just one email account set up on your device, the blank space or the default text where you can edit and put your signature. Those that have more than one email configured on their iOS device will be provided with two options at the top of the screen: All Accounts or Per Account.

All accounts lets you set a signature for all emails you have added. Tap this option and you will see a blank field come up in the middle of the screen. Tap the blank field and the keyboard will slide up the screen. You can type in your signature now.

To save the signature, just close the Settings app. It is that simple.

Editing per account basis is for when you have multiple email configured on your iPhone or iPad and you want to set a different signature for each email. Tap the Per Account option in the Signature window and you will see an editable field for each email account appear on the screen of your device. As we have described before, just enter your signature for each account.

To save the signature, close the Mail app.

Control the gadget;

Be it a phone or PC, many users start out with the control and soon get overwhelmed by the Tech, it’s at that point when your machine doesn't only feel addictive but sometimes makes you wish you could bury it, this is how you can tame that "tech" Dog!

Using status updates
Most if not modern communication modes and apps have a way to control the status, setting your status to busy, away or customizing it lets people know that you are not available or otherwise, this limits the amount of chart messages you may receive during a work schedule and provides you the first line of control.

Notifications
you can customize everything on your device, ring tones, email notifications and other messages, for your phone take the time to setup profiles mainly for the significant moments; meetings, lecture, church, beach, and the lot… your device can be a distraction in a presentation or meeting that may make you lose that deal

Self control
In many cases it’s not the gadget but you, when you find yourself staring down at your phone waiting for that next message then believe you me you need to practice some self control, you don’t need much you could start by assigning yourself a routine, check your message in an hour’s interval… knowing that most of the platforms can retain a history, the messages wont varnish, they will be there to refer to even latter!

Did you know!

Facebook…
You can type and schedule a post to be published at later time and date!
This is helpful mostly to page administrators that have to keep people updated but yet again know the value of letting people take the time to process the information they provide…

Realistic reasons to why your phone won’t be the replacement for your Computer
Don't get me wrong though strong you personal pocket beast will not replace your computer, at least not any time soon and the reasons are as simple;
Mobile processors aren’t fast enough
Your ordinary activities like browsing and surfing be it watching YouTube videos don’t benefit from the fuss of processor upgrades as much, to be honest a duo core processor hooked up to a decent modem can give you a pretty fast surfing experience

The new ARM Cortex A15 core has already proven itself In the Samsung Chrome book; why can’t the same happen with phones? It’s simple, power consumption. Though viable the processor uses 4 watts at idle and up to 11 watts at load which is not much by laptop standards, but for a Smartphone, it’s staggering. Smart phones measure idle consumption by milliwatts and never draw more than three watts at load. Such low power draw is necessary to provide reasonable battery life, and even so, high-end phones suck down their battery with surprising speed.

So unless the next power bank design can harbor a mini generator, then you may be in business but the fight shifts, it s speed vs battery and we all know a bad battery can make the smartest phone useless to the mobile user.

But then again People don’t want to take their desktops everywhere…
A pocketable PC isn’t a must-have for most people. But while they might technically be small computers, people don’t buy them because they’re similar to their PC. Instead, widespread adoption of touch screen phones has occurred precisely because they don’t operate like a computer. They’re simple, they’re (relatively) easy to use while walking, and they just work.

Well am a geek but that’s not an overnight transition and most people simply are not interested and I respect that regardless of the enthusiasm I express while convincing them about the capabilities of the devices they wild, let’s face it the world won’t change overnight and so it remains, your phone may never be your next desktop

Let's talk mobile!
The revolution started and still thrives with changes at a speed non anticipated; its a fact, regardless of how new you consider your device it only holds the place for six months, soon it will be an all out tech war between the giants, but like computers, phones are not understood entirly in fact, many under utilise them, its a known fact that most of these devices have more power than the computers used in the 90's. The question remains, how much of your phone do you use, and what more can you do?

5 tips to help keep your passwords secret
Treat your passwords with as much care as you treat the information that they protect.

Use strong passwords to log on to your computer and to any site where you enter your credit card number, or any financial or personal information—including social networking sites.

1. Never provide your password over e-mail or in response to an e-mail request.
2. Internet "phishing" scams use fraudulent e-mail messages to entice you to reveal your user names and passwords, steal your identity, and more.
3. Do not type passwords on computers that you do not control
• Computers such as those in Internet cafes, computer labs, kiosk systems, conferences, and airport lounges should be considered unsafe for any personal use other than anonymous Internet browsing.
• Cyber criminals can purchase keystroke logging devices which gather information typed on a computer, including passwords.
4. Don't reveal passwords to others
• Keep your passwords hidden from friends or family members (especially children) who could pass them on to other, less trustworthy individuals.
5. Protect any recorded passwords
• Don't store passwords on a file in your computer, because criminals will look there first.
• Keep your record of the passwords you use in a safe, secure place.
6. Use more than one password
• Use different passwords for different Web sites and services.
