*End-to-end encryption comes to RCS in Android Messages*

Google’s efforts in making a unified messaging app is still uncertain. Every Android user worldwide (outside China and Russia) now has access to the next-gen texting standard that is replacing SMS. Google is now offering RCS chat services through its Android Messages app to everyone who installs it and uses it as their default texting app, which partly bypasses a carrier rollout that, at times, has ranged from sluggish to incoherent to broken.

Unfortunately, SMS becoming fully deprecated and replaced by RCS will only happen if all goes to plan for Google.

End-to-end encryption will only work on one-on-one chats when both users are using Android Messages and have received the update. Enabling end-to-end encryption on group chats is a much trickier problem, so Google won’t commit to a timeline for extending the feature. Enjoy ❤

Twitter Stories called Fleets are now officially available for all 🔥

Since every social media platform has some form of disappearing stories, Twitter has finally announced a global launch of “Fleets,” a feature it initally announced earlier this year and tested in various markets around the globe.

Now, any mobile Twitter user, regardless of where they live or what platform they’re on, will have access to the disappearing messaging feature, which will sit right at the top of the timeline in a row of Stories-like bubbles.

Twitter hopes the new feature will help reduce the pressure around tweeting by letting users express more casual thoughts and feelings while also concerning themselves less with saying something profound or racking up likes and retweets. Fleets starts rolling out today on Android and iOS and should be available for everyone in the coming days, the company says.

You can share text, respond to others’ tweets, or post videos with the same background color 🙂

*WhatsApp Introduces New ‘Disappearing Messages’ Feature* 😍

WhatsApp has introduced a 'Disappearing Messages' feature, which enables users to send someone a message that disappears after seven days once enabled.

After being rumoured for some time now, the new feature is due to be rolled out by the Facebook-owned messaging app, according to the Metro.

But ahead of its long-awaited debut, WhatsApp has released a guide to how to use them in an FAQ section on its website - as there are a fair few things to note before you start firing them out.

"You can send messages that disappear on WhatsApp by enabling disappearing messages," it says.

"Once enabled, new messages sent in the individual or group chat will disappear after seven days. The most recent selection controls all messages in the chat.

This setting won't affect messages you previously sent or received in the chat. In an individual chat, either user can turn disappearing messages on or off.

“This spyware is designed to steal SMS messages, contact lists, and device information, along with silently signing up the victim for premium wireless application protocol (WAP) services”

YassaKo is a micro-credit emergency payment option for users to top-up or recharges their utility bills like Yaka to enjoy uninterrupted usage. The service enables and facilitates electricity-prepaid users to get micro-credit to top-up or recharge and get electricity units on credit. All you need is any feature phone phone and your mobile number

The service leverages on the Mobile Network Operators’ (MNO) infrastructure to offer the service to their respective subscribers. The service is now available for only Airtel Uganda customers. To access the USSD based service; Dial *185 # and Select Financial Services, Select Yassako Select, and request and follow the prompts.

They have partnered 3rd party companies like ChapChap, Xente, EasyPay, PayWay, Ezee Money, InterSwitch, and other 3rd Parties to offer YassaKo through the Point of Sale terminals, Self-service kiosks, and the respective distribution networks. This service will be launched soon. 💡🔌

*How to free up storage space on WhatsApp with the new storage management tool.*

WhatsApp has finally made major changes to its storage management tool, making it easier for users to find and delete files that are taking up too much space on their phone. The company confirms that this new redesinged tool will be rolling out to users worldwide this week.

To free up your space on WhatsApp head to Settings > Storage and data > Manage storage.

The new tool, by comparison, offers thumbnails of content to be deleted, and groups this data in categories including “Forwarded many times” and “Larger than 5 MB.” That should make it easier for users to identify content that they don’t need or want any more, and that can simply be deleted. 🙂

Your Android or iPhone uses more battery while the screen is on, especially if your brightness is pretty high. If your battery is low, avoid keeping the screen on while following navigation instructions, don't watch videos, and stay away from games and apps with lots of animations.[1] If you do have to use the screen, reducing the brightness will conserve more battery power. 🔋🤝
