For most people, a graphics processing unit (GPU) is something associated with gaming, artificial intelligence, or high-performance computing. It's the hardware behind realistic graphics, large language models, scientific simulations, and increasingly, almost every major technological breakthrough of the last decade.

Now, GPUs are preparing for a destination far beyond data centers.

The Moon.
