In early fall 2025, Goldsboro Family YMCA approached us with a need: update their website by November 1st.
We proposed migrating to Small Y on our ITCare Cloud Hosting platform — a YMCA-branded solution perfect for smaller associations.
Through four strategic 30-minute calls and leveraging our innovative Content Studio AI, we delivered a completely redesigned website that launched October 31st with zero downtime.
The transformation was remarkable: 58 pages streamlined to 38, the Layout Builder interface, and a modern design that delighted the client.

Challenges and Requirements
Timeline: The project required a fully redesigned and optimized website within 3–4 weeks to meet the November 1, 2025 deadline.
Content organization: The existing site included extensive content and a complex navigation structure that we streamlined for better usability.
Visual assets: Limited availability of high-resolution images suitable for the Small Y platform, which required creative solutions to enhance the site’s visual appeal.

Solution
AI-Powered Migration: Deployed Content Studio AI to automatically process 58 pages from complex sources including PDFs, and images, creating DRAFT Layout Builder pages within one week.
Content Optimization: Streamlined 58 pages to 38 optimized pages, removing outdated content and consolidating navigation from 6 to 5 menu items through collaborative weekly calls with the client.
Visual Upgrade Strategy: We curated premium imagery to align with the energetic YMCA spirit, replacing generic placeholders.
Quality Assurance: Comprehensive link validation, QA testing, and proactive Drupal 11 upgrade
(the latest Drupal Stable).
Seamless Launch: Coordinated DNS switchover executed overnight on October 30-31, delivering zero downtime and immediate accessibility on go-live morning.

By combining innovative AI-powered migration tools, strategic content optimization, and collaborative client engagement, we successfully transitioned Goldsboro YMCA to a modern, efficient digital platform.

This migration established a replicable model for other small YMCAs seeking to modernize their digital presence on ITCare Cloud Hosting, proving that comprehensive website transformations can be achieved rapidly without sacrificing quality or user experience.

Exciting developments in AI integration for YMCA Website Services!

🚀After a deep dive this past week exploring various integration methods for our distribution – from REST APIs and GraphQL to MCP, custom plugins, and Drupal forms with agents – we've landed on a powerful hybrid solution!
Our approach combines:
- A plugin tool for the Drupal MCP module server.
- A dedicated Drupal service to connect with the plugin.
- A custom ai_advanced_blocks Block Service for creating block_content entities, leveraging a predefined structured schema from the same module.

This will allow for flexible and robust AI-powered content generation and management within the YMCA's web platform.

We're also catering to diverse user needs with multiple client options:

Claude Desktop: For the dev geeks among us.

Cherry Studio + MCP client: Perfect for those who value open-source and maximum flexibility.

NodeRed: My personal favorite for fully custom, no-code solutions.

n8n: My go-to for enterprise-grade, fair-code licensed solutions with rich API integrations. (Shoutout to the n8n.io team for their great work - see image 1 for a sneak peek of an n8n workflow!)

Our AI model strategy is designed for both rapid deployment and long-term sustainability:

POC: Utilizing top commercial AI models for quick market delivery.

MVP: Transitioning to optimized, decoupled micro-agents for cost efficiency.

Long-Term Production: Strategically using top-tier models for complex tasks, while integrating open-source, locally hosted models (from communities like Ollama, llama.cpp, MLX) for enhanced security, privacy, and cost-effectiveness.

This is just the beginning, and I'm thrilled about the potential to revolutionize how YMCAs engage with their communities online.

IT Care LLC released version 10.3.10.2 of the YMCA Website Services Distribution, which includes updates for Drupal 10.3 and PHP 8.2, UI fixes, and performance improvements. The update also includes community-backed enhancements and bug fixes.

As we celebrate our 7th anniversary, we are proud of the amazing journey we've taken and the achievements we've made with our partners. Over the past seven years, ITCare LLC has grown into a full-service digital agency, offering advanced solutions that help businesses and non-profits succeed.

This past year has been especially tough for us, but we’ve faced every challenge with strength and continue to support our partners around the world.
