Scientists "embedded" living neurons into computer microchips
Scientists at Aston are trying to integrate living stem cells from the human brain into electronic chips. They believe that this will allow building a new type of neural network that will not be limited by the parameters of existing technology, according to Aston University.
Researchers want to “harness the unmatched computing power of the brain of an intelligent being” to teach computers to solve problems beyond the control of typical algorithms.
It's not so much about creativity or complex actions, but about trying to endow AI with such abilities as intuition, insight, and a non-standard approach to problem solving. So that computing power is not wasted on processing millions of options, but on quick but rational choice based on ingenuity and experience.
The project was named Neu-ChiP, and formally it is dedicated to the development of a new neural network. However, it will be based on real neurons - living nerve cells that, as they grow, will adapt and line up into a given complex structure in order to work in conjunction with a digital interface.

Being cooped up in coach on a long-haul flight is never any fun, but Air New Zealand is planning to make things a little easier for its economy passengers.
The carrier wants to offer lie-flat sleep pods for travelers on its longest flights, including its new 17-hour-40-minute route between Auckland and New York City that launches next year.
The appearance of these capsules is slightly reminiscent of the distant and fantastic future that we strive to get into 🚀

Boston Dynamics recently recruited former MythBusters host Adam Savage to experiment with the dog-like Spot Mini to see what the robot is capable of.
Savage previously ran Spot successfully through a police training obstacle course, and now it looks like the robot has a new skill - rickshaw driver! It's looks impressive and very funny 😄
