AI is no longer just hype — it’s engineering ⚙️

Empat team attended AI Summit 2026, and the conference once again delivered an incredibly strong lineup of speakers, insights, and discussions around real-world AI development.

Two talks stood out the most:

🔹 Vyacheslav Koldovskyi () on Agentic Engineering for brownfield projects — a practical look at how legacy systems are not rewritten from scratch, but gradually adapted to work with AI through Memory Bank, Rules, Code Graph, and Spec-Driven Development.

🔹 Oleksandr Krakovetskyi (DevRain) with a deep dive into LLM APIs — covering temperature, top_p, reasoning tokens, prompt caching, quantization, and everything that impacts the quality and cost of production AI workflows.

Both talks focused on something extremely important: engineering discipline in AI development.
That’s what keeps AI projects from becoming expensive demos.

Last week we celebrated our 4th Empat School graduation, and it was a moment worth pausing for. 🎓

22 engineers completed an intense 2-month program where they didn’t just study, they built. Real projects, real pressure, real teamwork. They rotated through fullstack, mobile, and product development, then were graded on what they actually shipped.🎉

We brought everyone together in our Kyiv office for an evening of snacks, cupcakes, and a talk from Yaroslav, our Head of Engineering, on what it means to be a software engineer in the age of AI. No sugarcoating, as our Founder put it: it’s AI or die.

But here’s what we believe: the engineers who embrace AI, stay curious, and keep building are exactly the ones who will thrive.

Our Empat team attended Tech360: Policy Meets Technology — an event where technology, business, and public policy conversations come together to shape the future of the IT industry.

Among the key topics discussed were the transformation of the tech labor market, the growing impact of AI on hiring, strategies for entering new markets, and expectations of significant investments in Ukraine once the war ends.

Some insights that resonated with us the most:

After 10 years of leading the company, founder is stepping down from the CEO role. This decision reflects not a step back, but a strategic move forward — to support Empat’s next phase of scale and operational maturity.

Empat today is strong, resilient, and growth-ready.
This position was earned through years of focused work, difficult decisions, and the commitment of an exceptional team.

Over the years, the company has navigated major global challenges — from the COVID-19 crisis to the full-scale war in Ukraine — rebuilding the business while prioritizing people, quality, and long-term sustainability. Despite these shocks, Empat has achieved five consecutive years of growth across team size, revenue, and profitability.

As part of this transition, is appointed CEO of Empat.

Igor has been with the company for 4 years, working closely with Nazar as a key operational leader. He brings a strong track record in building scalable operating systems, strengthening delivery discipline, and ensuring predictable, high-quality ex*****on across complex projects. Under his leadership, Empat will continue to scale while reducing operational risks and strengthening internal processes.

Nazar Gulyk will remain actively involved as Founder and Partner, focusing on long-term strategy, strategic partnerships, and new growth initiatives.
