You will know if your dog is happy when they exhibit the 10 signs above. Let’s take a deeper dive into some of these signs of a happy dog.

1. Facial expressions; You can tell how relaxed your dog is by all their other facial expressions and body posture. Tension can be seen within the crease at the end of the muzzle into the cheek.

2. Waggy tails; Tails are great indicators of emotional state. But do not be lulled into thinking a very waggy tail is always a happy one. A dog that is simply ambling along with a soft swish to their tail is relaxed and happy.

Pets parents tend to see their dog as happy when their tail is going ten to the dozen, in many cases this is true, but if the other end of your dog is showing signs of anxiety, the tail simply is an indication the dog is in a state of arousal and in this case not a good one. Dogs who favour the left hand wag studies show they are super happy.

3. Play; We all have to be relaxed and happy to play. So this is a sure sign they are pretty well adjusted. Good play calms quickly and never gets so intense that they become thoughtless. When is play not play? When it is one-sided.

L’ordinanza del ministro della salute 6 agosto 2013 (pubblicata sulla G.U. n. 209 del 06/09/2013) prevede, tra le altre cose, che i cani pericolosi (identificati all’art. 3 dell’ordinanza) quando circolano in pubblico devono indossare sempre la museruola ed il guinzaglio, oltre all’obbligo di stipula di una polizza di responsabilità civile da parte del proprietario. Norma chiara e che vale un anno in attesa di altri interventi da parte del Governo.
Può essere sfuggito invece il senso (e le relative conseguenze) di quanto previsto all’art. 1 comma 2. che prevede: “Chiunque, a qualsiasi titolo, accetti di detenere un cane non di sua proprietà ne assume la responsabilità per il relativo periodo”.
Poniamo il caso di una persona che, per andare a fare una commissione, chieda al vicino di custodire il cane durante tale periodo e che proprio durante tale periodo il cane arrechi dei danni.

Beweging en goede voeding houden dieren fit. Van nature zijn veel dieren actief en daarom is het van belang dat veel dieren ook de mogelijkheid krijgen om actief te zijn. Wij hebben een aantal tips over het fit houden van je huisdier op een rijtje gezet.

Beweging
Dieren die bewegen blijven fit en gezond. Er zijn dan ook verschillende redenen om je huisdier te laten bewegen. Het houdt de spieren en botten sterk, zorgt ervoor dat het hart en de longen gezond blijven en voorkomt overgewicht.

Beweging voor dieren kun je op verschillende manieren stimuleren. Ga bijvoorbeeld fietsen met de hond, gebruik eten om je dier in beweging te krijgen zoals met een konijnenslinger of speel met je dier door leuk en uitdagend speelgoed te gebruiken. Let wel op!
