Reselling SIP trunking is not just about the route you buy. It is about where responsibility sits when a customer’s call fails.
Your end customer comes to you first. They do not have a contract with your upstream.
That means the operating model needs to be clear before an incident happens.
For VoipTower outbound pools:
• the required KYC is the reseller’s end-client KYC; reseller or transit documents do not replace it
• one pool is built for one client, so unrelated clients do not share that pool’s reputation
• after onboarding, the end client has a KYC token; if a number degrades, replacement can use stock already allocated to that client without collecting a new document set
• attempts per number are a capacity-planning control; traffic above configured capacity is refused rather than billed at a premium rate
• billing starts from answer
Keep application review, the first number in a new country and a repeat order from allocated stock as separate timelines.
For clean traffic on served directions, detection, replacement and isolation are upstream mechanisms. The reseller still owns the customer relationship and the first response to its customer.
The useful question is not only “what route am I buying?
It is: what do I own, and what does my upstream operate?
