🪁🌊 We discovered a new sport in Zanzibar… kiting through the boats! 😄

When the wind picks up and the ocean becomes your playground, even the traditional boats turn into part of the scenery.

Left of the dhow.
Right of the fishing boat.
Catch the wind… and keep going! ⛵💨

Kitesurfing in Zanzibar is already an adventure, but weaving your way across the turquoise Indian Ocean with local boats around you makes the experience even more spectacular.

Just make sure “kiting through the boats” stays a joke — give fishermen and anchored boats plenty of space. 😉

Wind. Ocean. Kite. Zanzibar. ❤️

🐒 Just another local in Zanzibar…

Not every monkey in Zanzibar is the famous Red Colobus. Sometimes you simply meet these curious little characters going about their day. 🌴

Climbing through the trees, looking for something interesting, watching people passing by… and occasionally posing perfectly for the camera. 😄📸

They are curious, clever and always entertaining to watch.

But remember — admire them from a little distance and let them enjoy their wild life. ❤️

In Zanzibar, you never really know who you might meet on your next walk.

Beaches, palms, ocean… and a few unexpected neighbours. 🐒🌴🌊

🌕🌅 Tonight the moon. Tomorrow the sun.

We placed our chairs on the beach in Matemwe, sat back, and waited…

Not for the sunset this time.

For the moon to rise from the Indian Ocean. 🌕🌊

Slowly, the horizon begins to glow and the moon appears above the water.

No rush. No plans.
Just the sound of the waves, two chairs in the sand and another beautiful Zanzibar evening. ❤️

And when the night is over?

We choose a beautiful room at Villa Kiva Boutique Hotel, leave the curtains slightly open and go to sleep.

Because tomorrow morning, we won't need an alarm clock.

The sun will rise from the same Indian Ocean and come knocking gently on our windows with its first golden rays. ☀️✨

Tonight, we watch the moon rise.

Tomorrow, Zanzibar wakes us with the sun.

Sometimes paradise really is that simple. 🌴❤️

🍹🌊 Today’s plan? Absolutely nothing.

Just enjoying our time by the pool at Mbweni Ruins, cocktail in hand, watching the Indian Ocean stretch out in front of us. 🌴

The water is calm.
The breeze is warm.
The cocktail is cold.
And nobody is checking the time. ❤️

Some days in Zanzibar are for exploring.

Others are simply for enjoying where you are.

So today, we swim, we sip, we watch the ocean… and let the rest of the world wait.

⛵🌅 Chasing the sunset… Zanzibar style.

This evening, we're not driving to the sunset.

We're sailing to it. 🌊❤️

The boat is taking us across the Indian Ocean toward Kae Beach, while the afternoon light slowly turns warmer and the sun begins its journey toward the horizon.

Ocean breeze.
A wooden boat.
Good vibes.
And a Zanzibar sunset waiting for us. 🌴✨

Sometimes the destination is beautiful.

Yesterday, while exploring Prison Island, we met one of its most elegant residents.

A beautiful peacock, casually walking around as if the island belonged to him. 😄🌴

With those incredible colors, that unmistakable crown and plenty of confidence, he certainly knows how to get everyone's attention.

We came for the turquoise water, the history and the famous giant tortoises… 🐢

But Zanzibar always seems to have one more surprise waiting for you. ❤️

Sometimes the best travel moments are exactly the ones you weren't looking for.

🦇🌴 Look up! Stone Town has some unexpected residents…

Walking through Stone Town, you might pass this tree without giving it a second thought.

But look a little closer…

Those aren't birds hanging from the branches. They're bats! 🦇

High above the busy streets, fruit bats — often called flying foxes because of their fox-like faces — spend the day resting together before becoming more active toward evening.

Below them, Stone Town carries on as usual.

People walking.
Scooters passing.
Shops open.
Tourists exploring.

And above everyone's heads… an entire colony quietly hanging in the trees. 😄

It's another reminder that Zanzibar isn't only about beaches and turquoise water.

Sometimes you just have to look up. 🌴🦇

☕⛴️ Coffee with a view… Stone Town style.

Sitting at Mercury Zanzibar, coffee in hand, watching life move across the harbour.

In front of us, the ferry slowly leaves the port, heading out across the blue waters of the Indian Ocean. 🌊

Passengers beginning another journey.
Boats crossing the harbour.
Stone Town behind us.
And absolutely nowhere we need to hurry to.

Sometimes you don't need a spectacular plan in Zanzibar.

A good coffee, an ocean view and the world passing in front of you are more than enough. ❤️
