Here are key steps to protect your Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), and banking accounts from hackers:
1. Use Strong, Unique Passwords
Use at least 12 characters with a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.
Never reuse the same password across accounts.
Consider using a password manager (like Bitwarden or 1Password) to store and generate strong passwords.
2. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Turn on 2FA for all your social media and banking apps.
Use authentication apps (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy) instead of SMS if possible — SMS can be hijacked.
3. Be Careful with Phishing Attacks
Don't click suspicious links in emails, texts, or DMs — even if they seem to come from Facebook, Instagram, or your bank.
Always double-check URLs before logging in. Hackers create fake websites that look real.
4. Update Apps and Devices
Keep your phone, apps, and browser updated — security patches help block known vulnerabilities.
Avoid using cracked apps or unofficial app stores.
5. Secure Your Phone and Email
Your phone and email are keys to everything. Use 2FA on your email and a strong phone passcode.
Don’t share OTPs (one-time passwords) with anyone — not even “support staff.”
6. Don’t Save Passwords in Browsers
Browsers can be hacked. A dedicated password manager is safer.
7. Log Out from Shared Devices
Never stay logged in on public or shared devices.
8. Monitor Account Activity
Check your login sessions (e.g., Facebook Settings > Security and Login).
Log out any unfamiliar sessions immediately.
Stay safe and protect your information
