Last year, we had the privilege of working on a project at one of the world's most iconic landmarks: Taipei 101.

Our challenge was deceptively simple: create a retractable awning system that protects visitors from the rain when it's needed, but disappears completely when it isn't—preserving the building's clean architectural lines and iconic appearance.

The greatest compliment? Most people never even noticed it was there.

That changed recently when a viral video captured the system automatically deploying during a rain shower. Since then, the project has been featured by several major Taiwanese media outlets, highlighting both the design and the engineering behind it.

For us, this is what great design is all about. Sometimes the most successful solution isn't the one that draws attention—it's the one that quietly does its job so well that it feels like it was always meant to be there.

A huge thank you to the Taiwanese media for sharing the story and recognizing the project.

Small batch production isn't just mass production on a smaller scale.

It comes with its own challenges, hidden costs, and tough decisions.

In our latest animation “5 Hard Truths About Small Batch Production”, we explore five hard truths every hardware startup and product developer should know before going into production.

After 25 years of developing products, we've heard the same questions about small batch production time and time again.

So we made a short animation that explores the five hard truths behind it.

A small design change can be cheap... or incredibly expensive.

The difference? ⏰ Timing.

The exact same change made later in development can cost tens of thousands of dollars.

Our new animation explains why—and why it matters for every hardware startup.

You think making fewer products is easier? 🤔

That's one of the biggest myths in manufacturing.

Small batch production comes with its own unique challenges—and many of the biggest costs aren't where you'd expect them.

We've just finished a new animation that explains why.

Stay tuned! 🎬

Some signatures carry more than ink.

During Computex 2026, we had the unexpected pleasure of seeing Jensen Huang sign one of our notebook designs.

The notebook isn't an NVIDIA product—it's part of a product design language project developed by CRE8 together with the Monster team, creating a unified visual identity across their product portfolio.

The signature is a fun and memorable moment, but what we're most proud of is the collaboration, the design thinking, and the system behind it. Sometimes the best recognition comes when great design quietly speaks for itself.

As we celebrate 25 years of CRE8, we look back at projects that demonstrate how thoughtful design can create lasting impact. Our collaboration with Gamers Outreach is one of them: transforming a mobile gaming cart into a robust, scalable platform that brings moments of joy, connection, and normalcy to children in hospitals around the world.

From product design and engineering to manufacturing and production support, the GOKart 3.0 shows what can happen when innovation is guided by a meaningful purpose.

When AI Becomes the Customer:
Computex 2026 was dominated by AI infrastructure. At first it seemed like many companies had suddenly pivoted to AI, but most have been building servers, networking, storage, and data center technologies for years. AI has simply become the industry's biggest growth driver. What stood out most was that many companies are no longer building primarily for consumers. They're building for AI! In many ways, AI has become the world's biggest customer.

Industrial Robotics Takes Center Stage:
Robotics was another major theme at Computex 2026, but Taiwanese companies largely focused on industrial automation and the technologies that enable robotics rather than complete humanoid robots. Humanoid robots were relatively rare and often appeared more as demonstrations than commercial products. Taiwan appears to be positioning itself as a key supplier to the robotics industry rather than a builder of humanoid robots.

Cleaner PCs, Fewer Surprises:
With AI dominating the spotlight, consumer electronics innovation felt somewhat overshadowed. Most advances were incremental, though PC makers continued refining fishtank cases with improved airflow, materials, thermal performance, and cleaner cable management. We're still not convinced every product needs an LCD screen attached to it. Looking ahead, NVIDIA's rumored RTX Spark superchip could reduce cooling requirements and enable a new generation of notebook designs by 2027.
