mdo works｜自由自在：臺灣當代女性書藝展主視覺設計

「自由自在—臺灣當代女性書藝展」是第一個以臺灣女性書藝家為對象所策畫的大規模主題展。

主視覺以策展人盧慧紋親筆書寫的「自由自在」為核心進行設計。書法字以區域切分、破格編排的方式呈現，字與字之間的留白及互相呼應，象徵女性書藝家突破框架、走出自身路徑的姿態。此外也搭配「自由自在」標準字，延續留白、呼吸的視覺語彙，讓主視覺呈現呼吸感與不規則的張力，表現女性書藝家在創作中的自在與從容。

”Walking Their Own Paths - Women Calligraphers in Contemporary Taiwan“ marks the first major thematic exhibition dedicated to the art of female calligraphers in Taiwan.

At the heart of the key visual is the phrase ”自由自在“ (meaning ”free and at ease“), brushed by curator Lu Hui-wen. By deconstructing the characters and using a bold, unconventional layout, the design plays with the ”emptiness“ and resonance between each stroke. This visual dialogue symbolizes how these women break free from tradition to carve out their own artistic journeys. Complemented by a sleek logotype that echoes this sense of ”breathing room,“ the visual captures a rhythmic tension and an organic flow—perfectly reflecting the grace, poise, and effortless freedom of women artists at work.

今年是又圓夢又奔波的一年，醞釀了兩年多的Rebranding和網站終於上線，中秋節終於開發了自己的月餅及禮盒，出了兩趟遠門，出去前和回來後都被排山倒海的工作淹沒，還有第四季密集的國內出差（瘋狂）。

每年到了這個時候都必須感謝找我們合作的夥伴及客戶們，感謝每件專案都帶我們到不同的地方、看到不同的風景，也感謝今年曾陪我們一起完成專案的每個夥伴們，大家都辛苦了！

IASDR 國際設計研究大會自 2005 年首次在台灣舉辦後，睽違 20 年於 2025 年再度回歸，匯聚全球設計研究者、教育者與產業創新者，共同探討設計在快速變遷中的角色與未來。

IASDR 2025 的主視覺以「從引用到擴散的知識旅程」為核心概念，透過四個符號構成完整的畫面：

（1）引號：象徵研究從前人觀點出發，累積並延續知識。
（2）括號標註：代表學術脈絡的建立與引用關係的精準標記。
（3）樹狀結構：呈現研究過程中對資料的組織、分析與架構化思維。
（4）向外擴散的符號：象徵研究成果跨越文本與場域，進入全球交流的網絡。

主視覺透過簡潔且具有象徵性的符號語言，表達 IASDR 2025 作為國際設計研究平台的核心精神——以扎實研究為基礎，透過多元視角匯聚全球，進而向世界擴散新的洞見與可能性。

The IASDR International Conference has returned to Taiwan in 2025, twenty years after it was first held here in 2005. Bringing together design researchers, educators, and industry innovators from around the world, the conference explores the evolving role of design and its future in a rapidly changing world.

The visual identity of IASDR 2025 is built around the core concept of “A Knowledge Journey from Citation to Expansion.” Four symbolic elements come together to form a cohesive visual composition:

(1) Quotation Marks: Represent the starting point of research, grounded in referencing and building upon prior knowledge.
(2) Parenthetical Citations: Signify the establishment of academic context and the precision of attribution within scholarly practice.
(3) Tree Structures: Reflect the organization, analysis, and structuring of data, illustrating the development of research frameworks and insights.
(4) Expanding Symbols: Point outward, representing the dissemination of research beyond texts and disciplines, and into global exchange.

Through a concise and symbolic visual language, the visual identity expresses the core spirit of IASDR 2025 as an international platform for design research—rooted in rigorous inquiry, enriched by diverse perspectives, and committed to sharing new insights and possibilities with the world.

mdo works | 「Molten Custard Mooncake 溏心奶皇月餅禮盒」開發計畫

「Molten Custard Mooncake 溏心奶皇月餅禮盒」是早起設計開發的專屬mdo品牌的中秋月餅禮盒。

這個計畫的緣起是去年收到友人手工製作的溏心月餅，覺得風味絕佳，因此決定今年中秋委託他製作我們自己品牌造型的月餅，於是有了這個計畫！

從月餅造型到包裝設計皆由我們自己統籌設計：外盒視覺以工作室養的兔子仰望月亮為核心概念，月球用網點漸層來表現，呈現月亮柔和的光線與中秋氛圍。月餅則用簡約的兔子造型加上代表品牌的m作為主要圖形，與外盒仰望月亮的兔子相互呼應。內盒則以「bunny‘s light, mid-autumn bright」作為Slogan貫串整體精神。

月餅委託糕餅師怡吟烘焙製作，模具則委託專業的產品設計師Coby設計開發，過程充滿測試與挑戰，但最終的成果相當令人滿意，是個具有挑戰但趣味十足的計畫！

mdo works | 「嘉義文學館：東門町1923」視覺識別設計

「嘉義文學館」以具有百年歷史的木造建築「東門派出所」為基地，於2025年6月正式開幕。

早起設計為「嘉義文學館：東門町1923」建立品牌識別系統，從書法中撇捺的飄逸與蒼勁汲取靈感，融合現代感的線條勾勒出標準字，傳達嘉義文學館以歷史為根基，展現跨越古今的文學風貌。標準色則取自場館本身鮮明的建築色彩，擷取屋瓦、藍牆、檜木與泥作等四項特色元素，呼應建築原貌，突顯這座歷史建築的獨特風貌。

The Chiayi Literature Museum is housed in the historic wooden structure of the former Tōmon Police Station, which boasts over a century of history. The museum officially opened in June 2025.

Matinal Design developed the brand identity system for Chiayi Literature Museum: Tōmonchō 1923, drawing inspiration from the elegance and strength found in the sweeping strokes of traditional calligraphy. These qualities were reinterpreted with contemporary lines to create the logotype, conveying the museum’s foundation in history and its role in showcasing literary works that span both classical and modern eras.

The brand’s color palette is derived from the building’s distinctive architectural elements—roof tiles, blue walls, cypress wood, and earthen finishes—paying homage to the structure’s original form while highlighting the unique charm of this historic site.

mdo_works｜臺銀數位帳戶宣傳形象平面廣告＆影片－鯨打細蒜篇

早起設計協助臺灣銀行製作「臺銀數位帳戶」的平面形象廣告與宣傳影片，負責整體視覺統籌。

本案以創意標語「人算不如鯨算，臺銀幫你鯨打細蒜！」為主軸，結合臺銀吉祥物「BUBI」，透過打地鼠的趣味方式演繹廣告文案。

影片部分則與野人設計合作，採用輕鬆、幽默且帶有懸疑感的節奏，營造吸引人的觀賞氛圍，引導觀眾進一步認識臺銀數位帳戶。

Matinal Design Office helped Taiwan Bank create promotional materials for the Digital Account, including print ads and a promotional video, and took charge of overall visual coordination.
The campaign features a creative pun combining “whale” and careful budgeting, illustrated by the mascot playing a whack-a-mole game. It symbolizes Taiwan Bank’s smart and playful approach to helping customers manage their finances.
The video, produced in collaboration with Wild Design Studio, uses a lighthearted, humorous, and slightly suspenseful tone to engage viewers and introduce the Digital Account.

mdo_works | 仙夷茗茶系列包裝設計

仙夷茗茶創立於1972年，位於雲林石壁的中高海拔山區，雲霧繚繞的自然環境，搭配優良的製茶技術及友善耕種的初心，使仙夷產出了口味豐富的茶品。

此次包裝設計針對仙夷的四個主要產品「紅烏龍、高山烏龍、熟香烏龍、佳葉龍茶」進行設計。

系列包裝主視覺繪製了仙夷最具代表性的「新生茶園」，這是一片以竹林焚燒後的竹炭作為養分，搭配友善耕種產出的高品質茶園。延伸新生茶園充滿竹炭養分的土攘意向，包裝色彩以深色系為基調，選用了「磚橘色」代表晚霞、「深青色」代表山嵐、「深棕色」代表土壤，呼應仙夷茶園得天獨厚的風景與優良的種植條件。茶包顏色則以茶的特色進行設計－「粉橘色－紅烏龍」、「黃芥色－高山烏龍」、「墨綠色－熟香烏龍」、「紫色－佳葉龍茶」。字體和繪製風格則以細緻、經典為主軸進行設計規劃。全系列以彰顯仙夷特色的主視覺搭配鮮明且別具特色的色彩，彰顯茶園環境與產品特色，營造共感並創造新穎的品牌形象。

Founded in 1972, Xian Yi Tea is located in the misty, high-altitude mountains of Shibi, Yunlin. Combining excellent tea-making techniques and sustainable farming, it produces rich, flavorful teas.

This packaging design focuses on four key products: Red Oolong, High Mountain Oolong, Ripe Oolong, and Jia Ye Long Tea. The main visual features the New Tea Garden, a high-quality plantation nourished by bamboo charcoal and eco-friendly farming. The color palette uses brick orange for evening glow, deep blue-green for mountain mist, and dark brown for soil, reflecting the garden’s unique landscape.

Tea packaging colors reflect each tea’s characteristics: soft orange for Red Oolong, mustard yellow for High Mountain Oolong, deep green for Ripe Oolong, and violet for Jia Ye Long Tea. The typography and illustrations emphasize a classic and refined style.

This series blends distinctive visuals with bold colors to highlight the tea garden’s environment, fostering connection with consumers and creating a fresh brand image.
