Today, we're not talking about products. We're talking about the man behind Brinno.
On September 27, Brinno Founder & CEO David Chen crossed the finish line of the Berlin Marathon and earned the Abbott World Marathon Majors Six Star Medal 🏅
It took him three years. He started in New York in 2023, then ran Boston, London, Chicago and Tokyo, and finished the last one in Berlin. Each race meant months of training and pushing past his limits again and again.
David grew up in the mountains of Chiayi, Taiwan. He built his engineering and design career at McDonnell Douglas and PTC. In 1995 he founded Taiwan's first publicly held design company, and in 2003 he launched the Brinno brand.
The name Brinno comes from Brilliant Innovation. Using its own low-power and image-tuning technologies, Brinno introduced the world's first long term all-in-one time lapse camera in 2009. After more than a decade in markets around the world, Brinno is now a leading time lapse camera brand, publicly listed in Taipei since 2015.
Time lapse was only the start. Today Brinno is also investing in:
🔹 Edge AI Cameras: image analysis done on the camera itself, for faster and smarter monitoring of job sites and industrial operations
🔹 Low Light Night Vision Cameras: clear imaging in very low light, for defense and mission-critical use
A marathon isn't won in one sprint. You finish it by showing up every day and taking the next step. Brinno innovates the same way.
Congratulations, David, on this remarkable achievement! We'll keep building innovative imaging solutions for the challenges our customers face.
