Last week we took the whole team to Taipei Expo Park for an afternoon of pickleball. Most of us had never held a paddle before, so there were a lot of missed shots and a fair amount of laughing at each other before anyone managed a decent rally.

The idea was simple. Get everyone out of the office, into the same game, with nobody sitting on the sidelines. Pickleball is easy enough to pick up that everyone could actually play, which was really the whole point.

Hopefully a bit of that carries back into how we work together!

In Taiwan, the Mid-Autumn Festival is mooncakes, pomelos, a full moon, and the smells of charcoal.

Barbecue was never part of the tradition, but now in Taiwan, it is. Balconies, sidewalks, riverside parks, the whole island grilling at once.

Our office is closed on September 25. Most of us will be standing over a grill, arguing about whether the corn is done yet.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!

Most corporate gift boxes are in the recycling bin by October. But this one has two more jobs to do.

HCI's Mid-Autumn gift this year is the Jade Bamboo Box from XYG Gallery (向陽文創). Inside is Yu-Jian rice from Guanshan, Taitung. On the outside is the Guardian Series by Yunlin-based artist Kayson Chen, in the red the season calls for.

The bamboo keeps working after the rice is gone. A slot in the lid turns the outer box into a piggy bank. The inner box holds brushes.

A full table, a guarded year, and a box worth keeping.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival from everyone at HCI!

What a night! HCI booked out the whole theater for The Rope Curse 4: Kuntilanak, and before the lights went down, the cast and crew came out to say hello to everyone.

Then the film began. A forbidden exorcism in Indonesia, streamed live to an audience that had no idea what it was watching. The ritual goes wrong, Kuntilanak wakes up, and the curse refuses to stay where it was born. It follows the living all the way home to Taiwan.

Three films built on 送肉粽 and 鍾馗 lore, and this is the one that finally crosses a border. Taiwanese exorcism meets Indonesia's most feared woman in white, and for two hours nobody in the room was reaching for their phone.

Malaysia is next, on September 24.

Thank you for spending the evening with HCI!

The Rope Curse 4: Kuntilanak is showing across Taiwan!

This chapter crosses the sea for the first time. Taiwanese ritual meets the Indonesian Kuntilanak, and the folk horror is only the shell. What lets the thing in is fear, secrets, and the grip people will not loosen.

HCI is honored to help present a story belongs to Taiwan.

A Monday afternoon spent in music and taste.

Classical guitarist Meng-feng Su, the first Chinese musician admitted to the Paris Conservatoire (CNSMDP) and a Golden Melody Award winner for Best Performance, spent the afternoon with us. He introduced the instrument, then talked about two American icons, Ernest Hemingway and Bob Dylan, with his guitar in hand.

Good taste ran through the whole afternoon, from the music to what was in our glasses. To match the story, our boss brought in bartenders to shake up four classics.

Thanks to the small pause from the usual workday, a good one to remember!

Speccing a data center fiber system means every component, from adaptors to rack-mount enclosures, needs to work together as one compatible system.

Our new Fiber Optics for Data Center Applications catalog brings the full lineup into one reference: Adaptors, Patch Cords, MTP/MPO Layouts, Cable Trunks, Rack-Mount Enclosures, and a technical Appendix for quick specification.

Every configuration can be customized to fit your project's exact requirements.

Where does your network end?

Every cabling project eventually reaches an edge, the point where copper stops and something else has to take over. Two problems show up there more than any other.

→ No power at the site
→ No reliable bandwidth to the device

We built a new IoT Solutions category to solve both. A patented solar charging design for off grid power, and a certifiable MPTL architecture for high bandwidth, high power edge devices.

Read the full breakdown below:

One out of 3 strategies to beat a red ocean market, introduced by Kris Kuo.

Kris Kuo's first point is one your customers rarely ask about, until something fails in the field.

→ Component rated means a single part passed testing on its own.
→ Channel rated means the full link, jack, cord, panel and all, was tested working together.

That gap is exactly where a cheaper competitor can look identical on a spec sheet and still underperform once it's installed.

Are cheap, low-quality connectors threatening your network projects? When performance can't be seen with the naked eye, competing on price is a race to the bottom.

In this video from Computex 2026, HCI's Kris Kuo breaks down how premium brands and installers can stand out, protect their budgets, and defeat low-cost competitors using three proven strategies ▼
