在 1959 年發明了 Gaffer Tape 電線膠布的 Ross Lowell 在 1 月 10 日，於紐約住宅中去世，享年 92 歲。他在 1957 年拍攝紀錄片期間，需要一種堅固又耐熱的膠帶協助工作，於是改裝了Permacel tape，並在兩年後推出了Gaffer Tape。
