We are seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of ICT Technician - North Region.
ICT Technician
Laresa seeks an ICT Technician to support our clients in North Trinidad and Tobago. The successful applicant will provide support to end users on a variety of PC and Application issues. He/she will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job as well as researching and developing new or improved processes, procedures, and troubleshooting scripts.
This position requires local travel. A good working vehicle is required. This position reports to the Operations Manager.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support from external users in Trinidad & Tobago. Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of Information Technology.
• Provide desktop and mobile computing support, train users and diagnose problems.
• Administer all types of ICT equipment – desktop computing, printers, telephone instruments and equipment.
• Coordinate with vendors on basic issues; including new wiring installs, UPS battery tests, network cable runs and desktop / cubicle moves.
• Apply software patches / upgrades and respond to user requests as needed.
• Perform pro-active maintenance on all computing equipment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• A general love for ICT and Technology is a definite MUST;
• Bachelor's degree or associates degree desirable but not necessary;
• A+, Network + or Microsoft MCSA certification OR relevant on-the-job experience;
• Basic understanding of switches, routers and TCP / IP networking.
• Experience with Windows XP, 7, 8, 10 and Microsoft Office 2013 / 2016 / 365.
• Excellent communication, time management and problem solving skills;
• Available on-call some nights and weekends;
• Ability to lift 50 lbs;
