π¨ ENOUGH IS ENOUGH β STAND WITH MAYARO / GUAYAGUAYARE π¨
The community of Mayaro / Guayaguayare is once again being disrespected and sidelined by El Dorado Offshore.
It is unacceptable that a company operating in and benefiting from our lands and waters continues to engage only two unemployed organizations β MMSU and LEDA β under its so-called CSR initiatives, while ignoring the many other legitimate, active, and community-focused groups that exist throughout Mayaro and Guayaguayare.
Our community is bigger than two organizations.
Our voices are stronger than selective engagement.
Our people deserve fairness, transparency, and inclusion.
By choosing to work with only MMSU and LEDA, El Dorado Offshore is sending a clear message that the wider community does not matter. This approach is divisive, disrespectful, and dismissive of the real needs and interests of the people who live here every day.
Let it be clearly stated:
β MMSU and LEDA do NOT represent the entire community
β They do NOT speak for all groups, villages, youth, elders, women, or community leaders
β They do NOT carry the full interests of Mayaro/Guayaguayare at heart
There are many other community groups, councils, faith-based organizations, youth groups, cultural bodies, and resident associations that have long been doing real work for the development of our people. Yet they continue to be overlooked and excluded.
We are tired of companies choosing convenience over community.
We are tired of box-ticking CSR that benefits a few while silencing the many.
We are tired of being treated as an afterthought.
π El Dorado Offshore β you have to do better.
True Corporate Social Responsibility means engaging the entire community, not hand-picking who is convenient.
Until this changes, we as a united community of Mayaro / Guayaguayare will continue to: π’ Speak out
π’ Post and share this issue across social media
π’ Call out injustice and exclusion wherever it exists
This is not an attack β this is a call for accountability.
This is not division β this is a demand for inclusion.
This is the community standing up and saying WE MATTER.
βπ½ Mayaro / Guayaguayare will not be silent.
βπ½ Respect the community. Engage the people. Do better.
