In recent times we have seen an increase in the theft of pets and livestock. Animal owners and farmers in particular, have been looking for a cost effective means to deter theft as well as identify their animals once found.

The common ear tagging system has proved to be inefficient as criminals simply cut it out and often injure the animal extensively.
