What the main difference between MD1 and MD2 ( apart the number)

MD2 have a different geometry inside the acoustic chamber of the transducers that give more air on the rear part.
MD2 use an internal sheathing of natural Cork is stead of foam
Those two modification although not change the natural and transparent sound signature of the MD1, add more dynamics and deepness to the sound

(although not related to sound )The aluminum cans look more refined and smooth to touch

RPX 308 Quad Mono headphone amplifier


The power supply is completely new, based on an high current switching unit that separate totally the amplifier from the noises of the power line, it is the followed by 2 RC filter in order to make the current as clean as possible and with a reserve of back up power more then enough to support the most terrible transients. The result is a great control of transducers ( any type no matter of impedance) and great dynamics jointed with transparent sound. The absence of any negative feed-back circuitry eliminate from sound all those artefacts in the highs that are common to many solid state amplifiers. The sound is round, deep, dynamic and absolutely natural either in balanced or unbalanced mode.

It is well known that an headphone amplifier is always a great preamp for power units driving speakers ,as well as for amplified boxes so a top unit like the RPX-308 MKII become an unbeatable preamplifier. This is not a standard option but can be implemented on customer request

Due to the high output current, and the great damping factor it can drive in the same way headphone of any impedance, more then one headphone can be connected at the same time
