⛽ Gary’s Gay Parita — one of those classic Route 66 stops packed with old signs, cars and Mother Road nostalgia.

🏛️ J.M. Davis Arms & Historical Museum — a huge and very unusual collection of historic fi****ms and other artifacts.

🐋 Blue Whale of Catoosa — one of Route 66’s most recognizable and quirky roadside attractions.

🎨 Tulsa — exploring the murals and the historic Meadow Gold District, with plenty of Route 66 character around the city.

🌳 Gathering Place — a massive riverside park and a completely different side of Tulsa. A great place to walk, explore and take a break from the road.

Tulsa gave us a mix of classic Route 66, history, street art and modern city life. 🚘🇺🇸

⬆️ Rode all the way to the top for incredible views across the city and Mississippi River
🏛️ Explored the museum beneath the Arch and learned more about America’s westward expansion
🦁 Visited the St. Louis Zoo
🏙️ Walked around downtown and explored the city
🎸 Highlight: Spontaneous AC/DC live!

Another day on the Mother Road — and this one ended VERY differently than planned! 🤪🎸⚡️

📍 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱, 𝗜𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗶𝘀 — Route 66 history, museum stops, murals and classic roadside Americana.

📍 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻, 𝗜𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗶𝘀 — a quick stop at the quirky Pink Elephant Antique Mall 🐘 and more Route 66 roadside finds.

📍 𝗦𝘁. 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗶𝘀, 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶 — crossing into our next state and arriving in one of the major cities along Route 66. 🇺🇸

And then… completely unplanned 🤪⚡️
𝗔𝗖/𝗗𝗖 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗦𝗧. 𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗜𝗦! 🎸

With Foo Fighters opening the show 🤘 — definitely NOT what we expected when we started the day!

From Route 66 museums and quirky roadside stops to ending the night with an epic rock concert. What a Day 2! 🇺🇸🚘⚡️

Our first stretch of Route 66 took us from the skyscrapers of Chicago into the small towns of Illinois. 🛣️

Leaving the Chicago skyline behind, we started heading south through Illinois — stopping in small towns, discovering classic roadside Americana and getting our first experience of the legendary Mother Road

📍 Pontiac — murals & Route 66 history
📍 Atlanta — Paul Bunyan

The best part of Route 66?
You never really know what you’ll find at the next stop. 🇺🇸🚘

Big cities, tiny towns, old signs, giant roadside attractions and pieces of American history around every corner.

Chicago really surprised us — we loved this city! 🤩

Sitting on the shores of Lake Michigan, Chicago is famous for its incredible skyline, architecture, river, waterfront, food and big-city atmosphere.

We explored the Chicago Riverwalk, walked through downtown, saw the famous Bean at Millennium Park and enjoyed the mix of skyscrapers, parks and water everywhere. 🌊🌆

Chicago is also known as the birthplace of the skyscraper, home of deep-dish pizza 🍕 and the starting point of historic Route 66. 🛣️

What a city to start our Route 66 adventure! 🚘🏁
