𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗜 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝟯𝟲𝟱
Yes, it costs money. Every year. And for many people, that is the first objection. In my view, that is short-sighted. I do not evaluate software by price, but by the balance of usefulness, time savings, and risk. From that perspective, Office 365 (now Microsoft 365) is the most sensible solution.
𝗔𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗨𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲 – 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁
The traditional purchase of software is an outdated model. Buying once often means letting it become obsolete. Security vulnerabilities, incompatibilities, and missing features are the result.
With Office 365, I always work with the latest version—without reinstallations, without migration projects, and without surprises. Updates are delivered continuously and in the background.
That reduces maintenance effort and prevents the typical problems caused by outdated installations.
𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – 𝗡𝗼 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗼𝘀
The biggest advantage is not Word or Excel themselves, but collaboration. Documents are stored centrally, versions are traceable, and multiple people can work at the same time.
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀:
• Email attachments inevitably create version chaos
• Local files are not synchronized
• Manual coordination costs time
With Office 365, these problems disappear. Changes are visible immediately, and conflicts are minimized.
𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
Office 365 is not a single product, but an ecosystem. Email, calendars, files, communication, and tasks all work together.
𝗜𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝘀:
• Appointments, emails, and documents are linked together
• Communication is structured instead of spread across multiple tools
• Data is not scattered across different platforms
Alternative solutions often consist of separate tools that may each be good individually, but do not work together cleanly.
𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
In daily business, what matters is not what is theoretically possible, but what works reliably. Office formats are the de facto global standard. When I send a document, I know it will be displayed correctly for the recipient.
With alternatives such as LibreOffice or Google Docs, formatting deviations occur regularly—especially with more complex documents. That costs time and looks unprofessional.
𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲
Data is a critical factor. Office 365 offers integrated security mechanisms, access controls, and backup concepts that go far beyond what individual users or small businesses can implement properly on their own.
Local solutions or simple cloud alternatives are often significantly weaker in this area—either technically or organizationally.
𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻-𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲
Whether in the office, at home, or on the move: access to emails, files, and applications is available at any time. And without improvised solutions such as VPN constructions or manual synchronization.
It works reliably and consistently—a point that is decisive in real-world use.
𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆
The question is not: What does Office 365 cost?
The right question is: What does it cost me if I do not use it?
𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵:
• Version conflicts
• Lack of compatibility
• Manual coordination
• Security problems
These hidden costs are usually far higher than the annual license fee.
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀
• Google Workspace: Strong in the browser, but limited with complex documents and often incompatible in details.
• LibreOffice / OpenOffice: Free, but inconsistent with formats and lacking true collaboration structure.
• Standalone solutions (Dropbox, Zoom, etc.): Work in isolation, but not as an integrated system.
