For years, websites were built for two audiences: people and search engines.
Now there is a third visitor: AI agents.
Soon, many users may not browse a website themselves. They will ask an agent to compare services, check pricing and availability, and eventually complete actions on their behalf.
That raises a new question:
Can your website be understood by an agent?
A website can look great to a person and still be almost invisible to an agent if its information is unstructured, its pricing is unclear, or its key actions depend on complex visual interactions.
In my view, the next phase of the web will not be only about who has the best-looking website.
It will be about who has a website that both people and agents can understand and use with confidence.
Agent readiness may soon become as important as search readiness.
Should companies start preparing now, or is it still too early?
