CMT Launches Media Literacy Training for SNU Students
Today, the Center for Media and Technology (CMT) officially launched the "Media Literacy for Students in a Digital Age" training for students of the Faculty of Languages at Somali National University (SNU). The program is part of Digital for Development, an initiative that equips young people with essential digital knowledge and critical thinking skills.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Languages, who thanked CMT and the facilitator for organizing the training. He encouraged students to make the most of their university holiday by gaining practical skills, emphasizing that Media Literacy is increasingly important in an era of abundant information and digital content.
The training is facilitated by Mr. Mohamed Sudi Gure, Founder and Managing Director of Center for Media and Technology (CMT). During the sessions, students explore key topics including:
Understanding Media, Messages & Influence
Critical Analysis, Values & Media Creation
Through this initiative, CMT continues its commitment to empowering students with the knowledge and skills needed to become informed, critical, and responsible digital citizens.
