We are proud to see people from KInIT actively networking abroad and inspiring the next generation. A perfect example is Adrián Gavorník who recently returned to his alma mater, Maastricht University, to speak at their Career Day. 🎓

His journey represents two core values we care about:
👉 Bringing invaluable international expertise back home
👉 Inspiring young university students to work with high-impact, full-time research

Our goal is to ensure that institutions like KInIT become a guarantee of world-class research and fulfilling career paths. Thank you, Adrian, for representing KInIT and our values on the European stage! 🌍👏

On Monday and Tuesday, the entire lorAI consortium - Kempelen Institute of Intelligent Technologies, ADAPT Centre, Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI), and Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) - gathered in Dublin for our annual Plenary Meeting. 🇮🇪

It was an intensive two-day session where we looked back at the project’s first year, evaluating the key milestones we’ve achieved and sharing results across all research teams. 📊

With a successful first year behind us, we’ve now fully shifted our focus to the road ahead. Our discussions in Dublin have set a clear pace for the next phase of the project, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s coming next for lorAI and the future of research at KInIT. ✨

AI for everyone, not just the English-speaking world. 🌐

Today’s AI is largely optimized for high-resource environments, leaving small languages and niche industries at risk of bias and inaccuracy. ⚠️

Through the lorAI Project, Kempelen Institute of Intelligent Technologies together with the ADAPT Centre, Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI), and Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) are leading the charge toward a more inclusive European AI ecosystem.

What if the real work starts after the breakthrough? 🔬

The infrastructure behind great AI research is just as important as the research itself. That’s why, through the lorAI project, KInIT is building the framework needed to support and move outcomes into real-world use. 🚀

We’re unpacking Objective No. 3.
Three more to go. 📌

Scaling research excellence starts with the people. 🧠📈

Building a Centre of Excellence at KInIT isn’t just about top-tier hardware or datasets. It’s primarily about empowering the individuals within our team and strengthening the institute as a whole.

Our recent Research Development Training, led by Eva Power, Paulo Henrique Soncini and Monica Lechea from the ADAPT Centre, focused on everything from securing funding to managing complex, high-impact projects.

These sessions are key to widening KInIT’s research capacity and ensuring our work delivers real-world impact.

How do we turn bold ideas into scientific breakthroughs? 🔬

We aim to lead trends by focusing on Low Resource AI. Through the lorAI project, KInIT is evolving into a Centre of Excellence. It is a place where frontier research meets real-world needs. 🌍 From pilot projects to interdisciplinary collaboration, we are building a space where science solves actual problems. 🤝

The journey continues. 4 more objectives to go. 📌

What if everyone could play a part in the fight against brain drain? 🧠

That is what the Future Founders initiative by The Spot is all about. 🚀 We are happy that researchers from KInIT could be part of it yesterday.

Jakub Šimko, Sára Soľárová, Róbert Belanec, and Ivan Srba presented KInIT and their own research projects to a group of ambitious young innovators. 🎤

We love participating in activities where we can meet talented young people and bring science and entrepreneurship closer together. 🤝

Thank you, The Spot, for the opportunity to be part of it. 🌱
