A very interesting research that shows how electricity usage data can be used to predict traffic congestions hours in advance. More interesting, similar method can be used in reverse - by observing traffic congestions, we can foresee electricity usage in cities.

New study reveals that cities are a great place for bees, too. No monoculture farming, no pesticides and no land farming are just some of the key reasons for that.

Research shows cities can be a place, where bees can thrive. Some cities have already recognized this and took action. They started to adopt urban biodiversity programs not only to protect, but to make urban environment bee friendly.

Urban planners need to know how to convince (not manipulate!) people that something is good for the community. This can increase the chance of getting the proposed solution through even if different stakeholders (eg. neighbours) don't benefit from it directly.
