🔬⚛️ Kako daleč smo v Sloveniji na področju kvantnega računalništva?

Vabljeni na 2. Slovenski forum o kvantnem računalništvu: Od raziskovalnih dosežkov do lastnih kvantnih zmogljivosti, ki bo potekal 5. novembra 2026 v Novem mestu v okviru Meseca znanosti.

🌐 Dogodek bo združil vodilne domače in mednarodne strokovnjake, ki bodo predstavili najnovejše dosežke na področju kvantne optimizacije, razvoja kvantne infrastrukture, hibridnih reševalnikov ter poti do prvega slovenskega kvantnega računalnika. Poseben poudarek bo namenjen tudi evropskim in slovenskim strateškim usmeritvam ter vlogi standardizacije in preizkušanja pri razvoju zaupanja v kvantne tehnologije.

Med govorci bodo predstavniki organizacij, kot so Forschungszentrum Jülich, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, HUN-REN Wigner Research Centre for Physics, AtomQL - Atom Quantum Labs, LOTRIČ Metrology Ltd., Jozef Stefan Institute, Ruđer Bošković Institute in Rudolfovo.

🚀 Kako lahko superračunalništvo, umetna inteligenca in podatkovne tehnologije pospešijo inovacije v raziskavah, gospodarstvu in javnih storitvah?

Pridružite se nam na Dnevih SLING 2026, ki bodo potekali 17. in 18. novembra 2026 v Hotelu Mons v Ljubljani v okviru konference Mreža znanja.

🚀 Finding and fixing bugs in parallel and GPU applications on Hunter

Debugging parallel and GPU applications can be challenging — especially when a bug only appears at scale or on the GPU.

This HLRS training course introduces practical debugging with gdb, ROCgdb, gdb4hpc and Linaro DDT. Over two days, participants will combine lectures with hands-on exercises running directly on the Hunter supercomputer.

The course is aimed at beginners and covers:

🔹debugging serial code with gdb
🔹debugging GPU kernels on AMD MI300A APUs with ROCgdb
🔹debugging MPI applications at scale with gdb4hpc
🔹visually debugging parallel applications with Linaro DDT
🔹applying DDT to your own code in a dedicated hands-on session

The course is intended for Hunter users developing or maintaining applications in C, C++ or Fortran. No previous experience with debugging tools is required.

🚀 EuroHPC User Days 2026 | Dublin, Ireland 🇮🇪

This week, representatives of the Slovenian HPC and AI ecosystem are participating in EuroHPC User Days 2026. The event showcases EuroHPC projects that have leveraged European HPC, Quantum Computing and AI infrastructures, sharing best practices and engaging with potential new users.

🇸🇮 Slovenia is represented by colleagues from AI & Supercomputing - IZUM, Arctur, Univerza v Mariboru, Univerza v Ljubljani / University of Ljubljana and Arnes through the activities of EuroCC SLING, the Slovenian National Competence Centre for HPC.

As part of the exhibition area, the Slovenian AI Factory - SLAIF was also showcased, highlighting Slovenia's vision for strengthening existing HPC capabilities with next-generation AI Factory infrastructure. AI Factories are among the central themes of this year's programme, supporting the development, training and deployment of advanced artificial intelligence models on European infrastructure.

The event also presents the European supercomputing ecosystem, featuring the capabilities and successful user projects of , Slovenia's first EuroHPC supercomputer. Discussions focused on sharing best practices for allocating computing resources and supporting industrial and research users through the AI Factories Access Calls.

🤝 The conference provided an excellent opportunity to connect with partners from across Europe and exchange experiences on the future of HPC and AI.

The Slovenian delegation also participated in the NCC & CASTIEL networking session, bringing together National Competence Centres from across Europe to strengthen collaboration and share knowledge.
