Singapore, with one of the highest vaccination rates in the world, is dealing with a surge in COVID-19 cases. We have to learn to deal with this. 98% of cases have no symptoms, but 2% do. Once we have taken proper steps, we will also be able to travel more. Borders must open, not only because of tourism. There is no alternative!

Singapore and Germany agreed on a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) that replaces quarantine with (too many) PCR-tests. It is a good start, but not yet optimal. More VTLs will follow between more countries and regions.

The UK, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and The Netherlands all opened up. More countries to follow. Some restrictions may still exist for the unvaccinated plus indoors (face masks), but life has in general come back to The New Normal. Good for the economy, good for the people, good for travel. Big steps in the right direction!

Finally. It has been a long COVID-19 year, but the world seems to be opening. More countries are well-vaccinated, more borders open, less restrictions apply. Slowly, but certainly, travel is back on the rise, even outside travel zones like the EU or the US.
