Contract Vessel IT Engineer (Freelance / Per Vessel Assignment)

About the Role
Shoken 8 Solutions Pte Ltd is seeking experienced Contract Vessel IT Engineers to support onboard IT deployment projects for commercial vessels worldwide.
This is a project-based position where engineers travel to vessels located in various countries to perform IT infrastructure installation, network deployment, and commissioning. If you enjoy travelling, working in the maritime industry, and solving technical challenges, we would like to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install and configure Windows Server and onboard IT/Network infrastructure.
• Deploy and configure Active Directory and user accounts.
• Install and configure required software on onboard computers.
• Configure desktops, laptops, and workstations.
• Set up and troubleshoot the vessel's internal LAN network.
• Verify network connectivity and ensure all onboard devices communicate within the same network.
• Set static IP address to all devices, Install printer drivers to all PC, Install SSD & Memory, Install Windows Operating System
• Perform network cable tracing and connectivity testing.
• Configure network equipment where required.
• Coordinate with VSAT service providers to establish onboard internet connectivity.
• Perform system testing and commissioning before project completion.
• Prepare basic documentation and report project status.
Requirements:
• Previous experience working onboard commercial vessels or offshore vessels is required.
• Experience travelling internationally for vessel attendance.
Good understanding of:
- Windows Server
- Active Directory
- Windows operating systems
- TCP/IP networking
- LAN configuration and troubleshooting
- Hardware and software installation
• Able to work independently onboard with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Willing to learn company-specific systems and procedures (training will be provided).
• Able to work under tight project schedules.
• Must have valid passport
• Must be willing to travel overseas at short notice, as vessel schedules are time-critical.

• Payment is based on each completed vessel attendance/project.
