e-Service Report
The SBS eReport is a customised application for SBS surveillance maintenance on-board the buses, which aims to electronically emulate the current pen-to-paper procedure where the engineers log the daily maintenance of buses in the depots that they are assigned to.
Engineers simply log into the application, select the depot that they are currently deployed to, enter the bus number, and record the maintenance that has been carried out on the bus. The engineers perform the maintenance work on several buses in the depot. Prior the trip to the depot, engineers are advised to import the bus and depot data that has been recorded online so as to maintain the coherence and accuracy of the eReport. This has to be done where there is Internet connection.
At the end of the maintenance work in the depot, the engineers proceed to generate the daily eReport from the application which consolidates all the work done in the depot on that particular night or session. The report is generated as a PDF file which is then electronically signed by the engineers and the depot personnel using the Adobe Acrobat Reader signature functionality. The engineer then proceeds to another depot to perform a similar task.
Back in the office, or anywhere where there is Internet connection, the engineer will then use the application to individually email the signed PDFs to a group of selected personnel. The application would not only attach the PDF, but also any pictures taken during the course of the maintenance work as long as the engineers include the pictures in the report.
The application is able to export all maintenance work done as an Excel spreadsheet which the engineer and his team can use for further data analysis.
The SBS eReport application significantly increases the productivity of the maintenance work as it does not rely on physical paper prints which can be lost or misplaced. As these prints are serialized with running numbers, losing them can cause audit complications. The SBS eReport application generates the serial numbers automatically so it greatly minimizes audit hiccups.
