A customer did this on his wheel wells for his previous car and experienced no difference on road noise reduction.
Always use the right material to block out low bassy frequencies. There is no point in using a deadener. A deadener is to stop vibrations, not block out airborne noises.

Recently due to WFH. Many customers have brought to "doing it yourself" DIY to soundproof their own cars. Here is an example of an Audi A5 customer DIY 4 layers of SecondSkin Soundproofing onto the doors. It is not rocket science, but definitely not as easy as well since it's not everyday you would dismantle the door panels of your own car.

Use the right materials for the job.

The new Honda Vezel is manufactured with little or no Soundproofing. This customer finds that the roof is too thin and not only rain noise enters, but also tremendous amount of heat when the car is parked in the sun.

We add a layer of and a layer of on top of that. And the results is so good, he recommended his friend whose driving the same car to get his roof done the same way.

Always insist on the right material!!
