The Open Source Society (OSS) is a student community at the Nanyang Technological University helping to promote the value and importance of Open Source in NTU. We attract students of common technical interests to foster a community of engineers, hackers and builders to explore their interests in technology and share their knowledge and expertise with others. Through our weekly meetings, we help st

NTUOSS is recruiting for our AY20/21 Committee and we are inviting passionate and talented students like you to apply and to join us!

This semester (AY19/20 Semester 2), we will be inviting successful applicants for an interview and to understudy their position of interest for the next AY's Main Committee. For instance, if you are interested to apply for Business Director next AY, you will shadow the current Business Director.

We are excited to invite you to join our brand new YouTube Live series called HackTube during which you can learn more about internships and hackathons! If you have ever wondered how to get that coveted internship and are curious on getting some tips and tricks to win your hackathon, HackTube is created just for you!

Stay in the comfort of your room while you join us on our YouTube Live sessions in which you can interact with our host and ask any questions on securing internships and winning hackathons. Our HackTube game plan is as follows:

HackTube will be hosted by Jarrett Yeo, a Year 3 Business & Computer Science student from SCSE. Jarrett was OSS President for AY18/19 and was nominated as the Finalist for the IT Youth of the Year 2020. He has been actively participating in Software Engineering & Data Analytics internships with Shopee, PwC, Grab, and Estee Lauder, and has also clinched championships in hackathons such as Code to Connect by Bank of America, Codeathon by Code for Asia, Digital Challenge by Estee Lauder and Accounting Innovation Challenge by Deloitte/EY/KPMG/PwC, as well as first runner-up in Paradigm Shift by DBS, Circles.Hack by Circles.Life, Smart Bus Challenge by LTA and Code::XtremeApps by IMDA. Jarrett will be interning at Bank of America as a Software Engineer this summer. Hear from him first-hand as he shares with you tips and tricks for securing your internship and winning your hackathon!

Hey Hackers! We hope you had a great break, and have gotten used to your new classes for this semester.

We are proud to announce our set of TGIFHacks workshops that will be held this semester! We have a fantastic set of students and external speakers who will be talking about a variety of interesting topics, so be sure you make it to as many workshops as you can!

Do note that the first workshop will be held next Friday (31 Jan) instead of tomorrow, due to Chinese New Year. We will be providing more details for the workshop on App Dev: React Native at some point in the future, so please keep an eye out for it.

We hope you have a great semester, and will be looking forward to seeing you all soon!

I’m the Best Coder! Challenge 2019 is free, open to all levels of experience and all nationalities!
