HUGE NEWS. Play portfolio company Original Games acquires Mergedom from Bigger Games in a roll-up strategy to become the kings of casual puzzle games.

“We are actively looking at additional roll-up opportunities as well as the best timing to release our next casual game,” Original CEO Arseny Lebedev tells us.

Play portfolio rocket ship Gamefam raises $25m. We initially pre-seeded the company in spring 2019 and in less than 3 years they achieved more than 6.5 million unique daily users in the U.S. and 15 million globally - talk about traction. Huge congrats to the team!

Gamefam has raised $25 million in venture funding to build games on Roblox in another sign of the growth of user-generated content.

We are super happy to celebrate the 3 year anniversary of Play Ventures. On stage at Slush in Helsinki on 2nd December 2018, we announced the start of Play with our debut fund of $40m. We are incredibly humbled to now be managing a total of 4 funds: Fund I, II, Opportunity Fund and our newly announced Future Fund. Across the funds we have $310m assets under management which is far beyond what we imagined back in 2018. It’s not just big numbers of funds raised, our Fund I is already showing strong performance and Play portfolio companies employ hundreds of employees.

We want to take this chance to thank all entrepreneurs who trusted us to make all this possible, we are your biggest fans. We also like to thank our own investors, collaboration partners and network. Our sincere Thank You.
