Reimagine Analog Sound, A&ultima SP4000T

A&ultima SP4000T is the culmination of nearly two years of dedication and exploration, beginning from the planning and development stages of SP3000T.

DAC, Tube, and AMP, the essential elements of high-end audio, may be accessible to anyone. Yet even with the same elements, what is ultimately created from them is an entirely different matter.

Using the canvas of SP4000, the essence of digital sound, Astell&Kern held onto one defining question over the past two years.

“How can we bring deeper emotion through analog sound?”

The answer was drawn with sincerity and endless passion, stroke by stroke. Every trace of that journey is distilled into SP4000T.

Astell&Kern’s own analog sound: comfortable to listen to, yet revealing new depth and character the longer you experience it. Discover it for yourself with A&ultima SP4000T.

Great sound isn't something artificially made. It is allowing every layer already present in the music to meet you, exactly as it is.

Astell&Kern CLARUS adds no color and emphasizes no single frequency. It simply presents the original sound in its most refined and luminous form.

A precise tribrid architecture powered by nine drivers
A midrange that clearly defines vocal density and instrument placement
A Silicon MEMS tweeter that adds fast response and delicate air
A 6-way crossover that maintains a natural flow of phase and tone

The bass reaches deep without overpowering, while the midrange brings the breath and texture of vocals close to you. The subtle tremor of strings and the gentle decay of a guitar come alive, each in its rightful place, as cymbals and the lingering air leave a bright, delicate trail of light.

Nothing added, bringing you closer to the music.
Experience Astell&Kern CLARUS.

Good sound is not merely about absolute clarity, but the warmth that lingers long after the music fades to silence.

The Astell&Kern SP4000T preserves every crisp detail while adding the rich warmth and natural decay only vacuum tubes can deliver.

• Crisp, precise TR Mode
• Soft resonance and gentle analog glow of Tube Mode
• A dense, perfect harmony of both in Hybrid Mode

Vocals gain tactile texture, drawing closer to the listener, while the trailing notes of strings drift deeper, carried on soft harmonics.

The SP4000T is more than just a music player. It is a high-end vacuum tube DAP that lets you tune the temperature of your music to match your day.

SP4000T has been named a Recommended Buy pick by Headfonia.com.

This review's highlights ✒

“To me, the SP4000T is breathtakingly good with tracks like Pink Floyd’s Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I – V). Organs, guitars, vocals and all other instruments sound rich, lush and organic to me. During my listening times, I always get this oozing sense of joy with each track. Every musician has a beautiful warm glow in them. I just love it.

When looking at technicalities, it comes as no surprise, that the SP4000T is a fabulous performer. It delivers details, resolution, texture and imaging at the very highest level. You get a wide and deep stage with immaculate layering, where enough air surrounds the musicians to give them space to breathe and walk around. Astell&Kern’s SP4000T places spatial cues with impressive precision and accuracy around the holographic stage.“
