Google DevFest 2019!
Yesterday, our members at NYP DSC are fortunate to be able to attend one of the biggest event of the year by Google Singapore! 🥳🥳
Devfest is an event with a focus on learning about Google’s developer tools 🛠 and platforms with the community, where developers come to learn 📚, share and network 🌐with like-minded folks. There will also be demo booths where you can try your hand ✋at the showcases built based on Google technology.
With events ranging from "Insights from a Google Technical Recruiter: Crafting Your Winning Resume And Acing Your Interviews" to "TensorFlow on Flutter", the event covers a wide range of soft🗣 and hard👨💻 skills sharing!
We have seen more than 300 passionate developers 💹gathered in the beautiful office of Google Singapore!🇸🇬 It was also the "first-time" of many of our members, stepping into Google Singapore!🤯
"I feel inspired by the talk by Weiyuan at Rakuten Viki, on building a social media wall serverlessly with Firebase and hope to embark on a similar project myself. It is tedious and slow to set up the full infrastructure for realtime data with websockets, going the serverless way with Firebase and compute functions on the Google Cloud Platform allows you to effortlessly build, scale and deliver your system with high performance. However, we have to be careful of recursions, infinite loops and always keep your functions hot!" - Joanne
Overall it was a really interesting and fun experience 🎊🎉, we are glad that all our members liked it and a big thank you to Singapore for hosting this great event! 🙏👏
